Re: VAR

Some awful VAR-ing in last night's match between Sweden and Azerbaijan, where Jonathan Isak was ruled offside for being in a marginally offside position when the ball was played to someone else. https://x.com/simply_intact/status/1858975086717624394 Ball goes to Gyokeres, circled, who in turn feeds ...

After his four for Sweden last night, in 24 games for club and country this season, Viktor Gyökeres has 32 goals and 8 assists.

Re: Weekend Football

Spurs' Rodrigo Bentancur gets a seven match ban for a comment made on Uruguayan TV that implied that all Koreans look the same. It related to a TV interview that Bentancur gave in June while on international duty with Uruguay. In it, he was asked to provide a shirt belonging to a Spurs player. “Sonn...

Re: England - the future....

It would be a brave one. Broadly speaking, Kane scores a goal a game. So if you're dropping him, you need a goal a game from somewhere else. Can't understand any desire to see Kane cast aside, tbh. He's just scored a brilliant hat-trick for Bayern where he didn't look slow, at all. And one of the go...

Claudio Ranieri comes out of retirement to take temporary charge of Roma until the end of the season, his third stint as boss. The club will find a new manager in the summer.

Re: Refereeing

Do you see that problem - of hating managers - as an English thing, RR? Because I feel like respect of officials in this country, as oppose to when I watch La Liga or Bundesliga, is on a different planet, and not in a good way. And that has fed into attitudes of officials towards clubs. Only a feeli...

Re: England - the future....

I mean, by all means bring Carsley in for the immediate future, not least since we had Nations League games on the schedule. But as soon as Tuchel was agreed he should have started. Injuries are what they are - like Trent's - but I don't think the squad would have seen nine players drop out if this ...

With the news that Ollie Watkins will start ahead of Kane in a must-win Nations League game tonight, I for one can't wait for Lee Carsley and his 'experiments' to fcuk off, tbh.

Sutekh Or have Bonnyrigg reneged on promises they’d sort it by a specific date?

The club knew of the issue, but were going to lay down a new artificial surface for community use as well as their league matches, that would have also fixed the problem of the slope, but they didn't get the funding expected.

Re: Weekend Football

^This.

Bailey is not in a million years getting a red for denying a goalscoring opportunity when Coote has played on and then there has been a goalscoring opportunity. If Nunez hadn't got the ball, Bailey would have been sent off by VAR.

Pepe the Horseman I think she was ok in small doses, then got really annoying when she was everywhere all at once.

Everyone finds her gorgeous, but I think she's a bit weird looking.

I think it's the squinting.

I've a few thoughts on this. Firstly, he has brought the game into disrepute - but only by videoing it. It would have been the same had he tweeted "I hate Klopp, he's a nonce". Secondly, I think people are really naieve and frankly a bit stupid, if they think that refs - who are humans be...
