Re: Next Reading Manager

72 bus Hammond was tasked with identifying six candidates and to recommend a short list of three from those six.
Who was the third candidate ?

I'd guess at Poyet, Di Matteo & Adkins. Who honestly knows fella.

Re: Next Reading Manager

.... And regarding the poyet thing- For all we know Poyet wasn't offered the job, he was just interviewed, as was Adkins and other candidates. The club had to agree a settlement for Poyet prior to interviewing him. If he wasn't interested, why did he bother getting interviewed? I think the press ar...

Re: Next Reading Manager

Also, Never believe what skysports speculate, remember they are also a bookmaker- wonder how much money they've clawed from ill informed speculation over the years. Or by being able to manipulate the markets by having their own Sports news channel to spread misinformation and pure speculation. Sky ...

Re: Next Reading Manager

I don't mean we'll get relegated next year but now that we've gone for someone and they've rejected us, it's going to be difficult to get a high calibre manager in. I hope it's not true, but no one likes being 2nd choice, which is why Adkins is no longer interested.
Is that official that Adk...

Re: Nigel Adkins - new manager

Royalwaster
Ideal
Ian Royal Presumably you'd prefer someone like Hitler to manage us.

He would know how to organize a proper attack!

Yep but it would stall in winter ...

End up shooting himself in injury time too.

Re: Next Reading Manager

moo I don't even want Poyet, don't rate him. I would just love to take another manager off Brighton. Weird weird fanbase.

As weird as our fan base?

Re: Next Reading Manager

I see your point, but unless we replace McD with a proven manager with top league experience then the dismissal is pointless IMO. Partly right. The idea is that we're replacing one managerial style with another distinctly different managerial style, not just manager with minimal top league experien...

Re: Next Reading Manager

I Can't see Poyet leaving Brighton. 7 games to go with us staring relegation in the face. He has a good squad at Brighton and think they'll make the playoffs. Apart from winning league 1 and Brighton playing attractive football- As a manager he's not proven enough, I think we had better in McD. It'...

Re: Rumour - Le Fondre To West Brom

This is what happens when teams get relegated...

Hopefully we'd get 3-4 million at least, but I wouldn't blame him for leaving us if we got relegated. He's a cracking player who wants to play at the top level.

Hopefully he doesn't leave, but if he did best of luck to him.

Re: Next Reading Manager

Massive school boy error sacking Big Mac without a replacement standing by to jump in. But that said, I think he was going to appoint Di Canio, until a vast majority of the fans and the players showed their displeasure. The longer the position remains open, then the more I think it will be a manager...

Re: What's the shittest thing about the prem?

I do wish people would stop moaning about new fans. We want money and invenstment, that comes from new fans. Everyone is entitled to their opinion and ecouraged to spend their money with us rather than the bigger clubs. Its a football club, its not some exclusive members club which you're only allo...

Re: Nigel Adkins - new manager

Scary thing was that he was a better keeper than Simon "could catch a cold" Shepperd. I'm pretty sure the game I remember him going in goal was at elm park. It was during the Gooding/Quinn manger era. I loved Elm Park. Can't believe how far Reading have come as a club. Remarkable achieveme...

Re: Nigel Adkins - new manager

Big John was probably referring to when Quinny had to go in goal when our keeper (was it Shep) got sent off. From memory I think it was against Wolves or Bolton- someone here will know.

Remember watching that match. Elm Park was a fortress Against big teams :)

Hi TTC, nice post - welcome to the board although I don't agree re Hammond, you've made an interesting suggestion
Thanks Whiskey for the welcome. :)' The reason I think Hammond should go is that he should have known the need to invest in quality premiership proven players in the summer- Afte...
