Re: Non - League thread 2013/14

Went to Barnet v Wrexham today. The Hive looks better in person than it does in pictures. Half-price day, so just £11.50 in the seats. Not a bad game either, but it got somewhat heated with three players sent off in the last five minutes. The last was for a terrible tackle that left these holes in t...

Re: Buyout

why does everyone always say JM would only have ever sold with the best intrests of the club in mind, have i missed all these other bids to buy the clubs over the years that he turned down? Yes, you do seem to have missed them. He's never made the bidders public, just as the AZ deal wasn't made pub...

Re: World Cup Qualification - Brazil 2014

This World Cup is going to be absolutely brilliant. Nobody expects England to win so hopefully we'll see less of that related nonsense and just enjoy watching how far they can go, whilst enjoying all the other teams in the tournament. who the hell have you known who actually thought England were go...

Re: Cureton watch

No, I was referring to the fact that most of his goals were from inside the penalty box. Not to say he didn't score some long range goals like the "dipper" against Burnley and the long shot against Brighton in his last season when we were chasing the game and he was more pre-occupied with...

JimmytheJim The silence is conspicuous.

I know it seems unlikely, but maybe the club aren't concerned (or even aware) about the existence of this thread, and the rumour in it,

Re: Opposition fans back from the game

It's like the previous post about what the Yeovil fan said. We have a grown steadily as a club, we have excellent facilities and are run pretty well as far as football clubs go. Look at it from a Birmingham City perspective, We are little old Reading but in the last 20 years we have built a new sta...

Re: Flat reading fans!

To be honest, what do the away fans see? A building site of a train station, a bus station that looks like a scene from a horror film and a stadium with little atmosphere. We're not the best "Away experience" all round. by all accounts, away fans and most clubs sing that wherever they go,...

Re: NH on Radio Berkshire

Do people honestly think that RFC don't know who Paddy Madden or Nakhi Wells are? They're prolly seen them play loads of times. Suggesting we didn't sign them because we couldn't afford them or didn't know who they were is crazy. Even if we had signed them this board would be full of people going &...

Re: Adkins: 'I don't think Reading can reach 100 goal target

The club portrayed a confidence in meeting their target and I think it was misleading. It really boils down to whether you believe they thought they were going to get players in or not. You can fully intend to do something, and be confident you will achieve it, and still not achieve it. If you don'...

Re: Adkins: 'I don't think Reading can reach 100 goal target

Expecting to sign more players is not a guarantee it'll happen. It's not a promise. It's merely an implication that signing more players is more likely than not. You need to be oxf*rd thick or have a shedload of axes to grind not to understand that. The club wanted to sign players. They failed to do...

Bollocks. The point he was making was absolutely crystal clear and in no way diminished by his use of English unless your priorities are idiotically out of whack. ..., this is someone just talking in his perfectly understandable idiom. Yes. It's perfectly understandable, but makes the person seem a...

Re: England Under-21s

Norfolk Royal What's the finances on this? The club can't have broken even on a crowd of 5,000. Do we get baled out by the FA or summat?

I'm sure the FA would have covered all costs, and just paid us a fee for using the stadium. Not quite sure how it could have cost the club money.

Will Grigg (Brentford) Age: 22 League 1 Last Season: 41 Ga...

Royalclapper Confrontations a plenty to come by the sounds of it, it appears that Adkins is not prepared to be the usual lackey that the club bullies around.

Who are these numerous lackeys that the club has bullied around?

oxf*rd you! You obviously do require people to justify their support for the club otherwise you wouldn't make stupid comments trying to big up yourself as a better fan. Once again you didn't read what I posted, just like you didn't read what Floyde posted, you just keep trotting out your dull clich...

You didn't listen to a word he said did you? If you think the only two options were 'spend £5 million on a player worth £1 million' or 'do nothing' then maybe you're a bit simple aren't you? Literally any footballer available could be described as valued 'over the odds', if it's you who is setting the 'odds' in the first place. +1. LOL @ sycophants trotting out empty phrases such as 'we won't pay over the odds'. "WE WON'T PAY OVER THE ODDS :!: I AM A BETTER FAN THAN YOU BECAUSE I ...

Re: Squad review now transfer window has closed

Lots of praise for the centre of midfield. I agree that man for man it looks good, but to be honest, it still doesn't seem to work. Teams still dominate our midfield far too easily, stampeding through at will like wildebeest on the Serengeti, we struggle to break with any kind of understanding, and ...

Re: RFC - Thank You To The Season Ticket Holders

I don't know about you, t.v., but I buy a season ticket because I want to go to every game, not because somebody has promised we'll be great and sign loads of players.

If you did the opposite then it's you that's the mug, not everyone else.
