Re: BFTG - Norwich

He could have been in a better position on the second goal, for one. That, coupled with the aforementioned lack of authority, knocked him down.

He didn't have many saves to make so I can't really go any higher, in my opinion.

Re: BFTG - Norwich

Why have you given Walker a 4 when he didn't put a foot wrong? Very odd opinion, can't have seen the game. Because I have a different opinion to you. I thought he was in a poor position on the second goal and didn't look very commanding overall. He didn't really do a lot to bump his score up either.

Re: BFTG - Norwich

From what I saw: Walker - 4. No real chance on the first but the second I thought he was in a poor position, although arguably it shouldn't have mattered as the ball should've been cleared. Doesn't look very commanding. Gunter - 2. So, so poor. Needs to take responsibility as a senior member of the ...

Re: Ex Players

Just read this article about Scott Davies and issues with gambling - http://www.bbc.co.uk/bbcthree/article/a35b72fb-6035-4ccc-90bc-f2a93c4d3671 This is a fascinating article - always wondered why it didn’t work out that Rodgers season when he started so well. Crikey. That's one hell of a read. At l...

Re: Josh Sims - Confirmed?

I saw Josh Sims on a Sky Sports programme called "Phenoms" over the summer where they followed him through recovery form injury and back into first team training. Couldn't get a feel for what he was like as a player but he came across pretty well IIRC I saw that too. Seems like a nice lad...

Year of the Royals, the 93/94 season review, has some footage of him and a generally excellent season.

Re: Next seasons kit choice?

I quite like those but as you said, they'll be nothing like the templates Puma give us. Palace's template is likely to be used for at least one of our kits, and that's not particularly offensive so I won't be too bothered. It would be good to have a new supplier who will create bespoke kits but that...

Re: BFTT Cardiff

Back from the telly as well - we contained Cardiff well and for all their possession they didn't really ever look that threatening. A decent showing on the final day and thankfully we can now get this season out of the way and look forward to next year. My one concern is that we'll struggle to get ...

Re: Opposition fans back from the game

Hugh Grant and Richard Osman are Fulham fans says it all really. Posh boys from the Home Counties with no connection to west London. Your typical Fulham fan really just a pleasent walk along the river from there luxury apartment overlooking the Thames. tbf - the typical Reading fan now is someone i...

Re: CONFIMRED - Paul Clement appointed as new Royals boss

Reasonably happy with this. Hopefully he can gee up a squad which, on paper, should be nowhere near the relegation zone and get those few results to pull us away from it in time to enjoy the last couple of games, then look to build from the start of next season. He's got some good contacts in the ga...

Re: BFTG - Bolton

Entertaining or not, it worked last season. People generally like watching successful teams, even if they don't like the style. The attendance figures back that up. For example, I didn't find the style in 11/12 particularly entertaining, but we were winning and playing to our strengths so I enjoyed ...

Re: BFTG - Bolton

I don't think it was, mainly because there was confidence throughout the team and we were picking up results. It was working so there wasn't a great need to change up the style like we have seen this year, and we really dug in defensively when we needed to. Let's not forget that finishing 3rd in the...

Re: BFTG - Bolton

A very changed and experimental side which resembled a team at the start of a season. From the reports sounded like I did well not to see last nights game. From the people who bravely attended - Did Evans do a better job than Joey and would Joey been more effective against the physical side of Bolt...

Re: BFTG - Bolton

That was better than last week but making six changes for a game like this could have been disastrous. It looked like two teams trying not to lose, as opposed to trying to win, and a draw was a fair result in the end. Radio Berks after the game is always good for a laugh, but people who think Stam i...

Re: Reading v Bolton Official Predictions Thread

HT Reading 1-0 Bolton. Martin
FT Reading 2-0 Bolton. Barrow

It won't be pretty but we will win.

Karacan will probably get the biggest cheer of the night.

Re: BFTG Sheffield Utd

I'm not reading through the whole thread so please forgive me if I miss other points of discussion or make a point which has already been made. The first goal felt inevitable after a really shaky opening few minutes and we got what we deserved, really. We didn't respond like we did against Derby and...

Re: Swansea Predictions

3-1 Swansea.

Hopefully some of our youngsters will get a run out again and gain more crucial experience.

I'm also hoping we sing 'Gylfi Sigurdsson, he's one of our own'
