Re: MATCHWATCH : Shrewsbury Town (h)

Button is a bang average keeper and will have good days and bad days!! hence the word average!! however, in our current financial situation what else do we really expect? We could throw Pereira into the mix, would he be any better, probably not otherwise he wouldn't have spent his whole career as an...

Re: Who do you consider to be a rival?

My first Reading game was back in 1979 and for the most part it was always Aldershot, Swindon and Oxford!! Both Brizzle teams always came in big numbers and looked to cause trouble but i wouldn't call them rivals. From my memories Oxford always seemed to bring the most away fans and the atmosphere w...

Championship wage bills for 2023/24. the relegated teams are literally in a different league of their own. https://www.planetfootball.com/quick-reads/championship-wage-bills-2023-24-leeds-leicester-southampton Its a whole new ball game these days when you throw in FFP the rest of the league have to...

Re: MATCHWATCH : Port Vale (h)

To be honest, i would stick with Bindon and Mbengue as it seems to be working ok and as mentioned it may well be our starting pair at CB next season so it seems only fair to give them more time to gel as a partnership. Saying ,that, i would also like to see if Dorsett can stake a claim to partner a...

Re: MATCHWATCH : Port Vale (h)

If Mbengue and Bindon continue to do well, it makes no sense to bring Holmes back in. Better to let them keep playing together so they can be 1st choice next year. I doubt we need to worry much about Holmes displacing him for many games. To be honest, i would stick with Bindon and Mbengue as it see...

Re: MATCHWATCH : Port Vale (h)

His decision making may have been hindered by playing multiple positions and having to make different decisions each time i.e. the same scenario would need a different decision from a RB than a CB. You would hope that the more games he plays at CB, the quality of his decision making will improve as...

Re: MATCHWATCH : Port Vale (h)

The table is starting to look much better now!! If we can look after our home games then we're pretty much safe and mid-table....plus after the Derby game i think we're done for midweek games other than the holiday games. Smith must be due a goal sometime soon which should be the start of one of hi...

Re: The Academy/Development squads watch thread 2015//16

Nice to see Jamari Clarke back amongst the goals, always thought he may be good enough to become a decent striker. I guess injuries have curtailed his progress the past few seasons.
Always thought Clarke had a bit more to him than both Ehib and Wareham? Any of you U23 regulars have any feedback?

Re: MATCHWATCH : Portsmouth (a)

Nothing to worry about right now. we just played the Champions Elect off the park playing superb fast flowing attacking football for the first 40mins!! We really should and could have been 3-0 up. But that's football and that's why we're down at the bottom and they're up the top. We missed our chanc...

Re: MATCHWATCH : Fleetwood Town (a)

It was a sad end to the game, but an away point is more than fine. It keeps us ticking over and the run going. Our home form should be key to survival this season however, taking the odd draw away from home will help us inch our way to the 50+ points total needed for safety. Portsmouth is a free hit...

Re: MATCHWATCH : Portsmouth (a)

I am really looking forward to this one. Going to Fratton Park has always been one of my favourite away days. I reckon we could sneak a win, as I don’t think we should fear anyone in this league. Probably famous last words but here’s hoping. I don’t mind one song Pompey and the first game I saw us ...

Re: MATCHWATCH : Fleetwood Town (a)

some eagle-eyed fans spotted Smith limping off the pitch at full-time and didn't participate in the celebrations at the end. Reckon he will be rested. maybe a first start for wareham? Well spotted. Ehibhatiomhan let's see what you've got when you play up front. Yids being rested? or picked up an in...

Re: MATCHWATCH : Charlton Athletic (h)

If we can win this game and make it 7 from 9 against Poxford, Stevenage and Charlton that would be a great return of points!! Charlton should bring a couple of thousand as they're a pretty well supported club and it would be nice to see our fans getting behind the team in real numbers. Another 15,00...

Re: Selles In

So, rumour is that Savage had a payrise clause in his contract triggered on 15 starts, and we couldn't afford it so stopped starting him. Which would mean Craig was only brought in for Savage by Selles for contractual, not tactical reasons. And now Savage has reportedly waived his payrise to play, ...

Re: Confrimed - Abbey and Holmes going

Personally i think the window so far has been pretty shrewd business. We need to cut the cloth and get a bit of cash into the building!! Holmes and McIntyre are both super nice guys, however, nice doesn't win you games and both have been cogs in probably our worst defense in recent memory. Abbey mad...

Re: Confrimed - Abbey and Holmes going

Be a real shame with Holmes off at the end of the season. Back to being extremely inexperienced at CB except Dean - who is rightly nowhere these days. I do think Bindon and Dorsett have the potential to be a pretty epic pairing in future though. McIntyre going leaves us pretty darn light. It puts C...

Re: Summer 2023 Transfer Speculation

Real Madrid have agreed on a change with Caylan #Vickers - but the timing still seems to be open. Reading FC, which is in financial difficulties, prefers a January transfer. https://twitter.com/andreoeausm/status/1750128237550715068 (Swiss Journalist by the looks of it) Wouldn't be to upset with th...

Great win against a high flying Derby side.....big game now against Leyton Orient, hopefully a big crowd as they should bring +2000 for a Saturday game. Another home win would set us up nicely for the Oxford derby!!!! Comon Urrrrzzzzzzz.... :D
