Re: Liverpool match thread sponsored by Brynjar nutmegging I

This is so tiresome I can't be bothered with a long reply. Liverpool, on their day, are a good enough side to beat anyone. And if we played to our best, and got stuffed, then so be it. The frustration is, we can get the ball in 10 yards of space, and by the time Leigertwood's fat a*se has controlled...

Re: SPECULATION - Charlie Austin

1-1.5 million is a "steep asking price"?!

With the exception of the way coppell did things here (which we will most likely never see again), a championship side won't get a half-decent player for any less than that. That's really not steep.

Likes..Darren caskey was a superb playmaker for us and chipped in with some great goals shame he couldnt lay off the pies. Scott howie dunno why just did. Dislikes..barry hunter.. Im with you on Caskey... great player. I dont think anyone would argue a certain mr. Glen Little was superb for us, but...

Re: The Andre Bikey welcome thread

One of the most entertaining defenders we've ever had at Reading. Yes, made a few howlers while he was here, but so did Sonko, and I don't think anyone could argue with what either of them did for the club!

Re: You're Reading manager for the Jan transfer window

I like Long, but I don't think he's the right sort of player to be our main poacher. I think he's almost ideal as a link-up player in the championship, and with a bit of quality to play alongside him, I think we'd bag a lot of goals. It's ambitious, but I'd love to see us make a bid of a couple of m...

Long out, Bolt in.

Just knock it 10 yards behind the 2 centre backs and start running. 20 goals a season easy peasy.

Re: Dear Mr Chairman

I actually really rate Howard. 100% every game and very technically gifted. Kebe is class most games, not worried about him. When Tabb's fit it's going to make for a quality midfield. But you're not exaggerating at all, I don't see where goals are coming from with Siggy gone at all. They'll mostly ...

Re: Dear Mr Chairman

Well that'd give us 30 goals and I don't see Long getting any ;) Hunt might hit form but Im not relying on him as a saviour, especially now Stephen is long gone, which I imagine is the main reason he came. Church is lightweight. Probably has potential, but way off at the moment. Our midfield is goin...

Horsham Royal I think WC > La Liga, but hey ho.

Yes but Barcelona > Iceland. That's what I meant. I don't deny the world cup is a bigger event, I was talking about the team.

Re: Confidence Part 2

What makes you think I grew up and starting supporting the club during the premiership era? My memories of Elm Park are just as clear as those of the Madejski so I don't really see your point at all. And if you too want Madejski out because of no ambition and underinvestment then I don't even see ho...

Horsham Royal And do you know for a fact that none of the HOff money will be spent on loans / in Jan ?

More or less, yes.

That money's only going 2 places. Just to the left and just to the right of Madejskis dong.

Rev Algenon Stickleback H
under the tin If asking the public of reading to rally round the flag, and buy season tickets is the extent of being the chairman, then we should have eleven thousand of them.

How much money, on average, should a championship chairman subsidise his club each year?

More than £50,000 of 33 year old.

Re: When did you move from RTG to STG

I supposed my slow slide into my current state of apathy started when it became apparent that my hope and expectations for my football team are not the same as the people controlling the club. Throughout the nineties as Reading move from Elm Park to the Mad Stad there seemed to be a unifying sprit ...
