Was not my first choice by any means but i think he has come over extremely well today. Hopefulluy his confidence and enthusiasm will transmit to the players and we will get the results we desperately need. On reflection his record at Derby was very good and after saving Swansea they repaid him by s...
Please not Clement. He cracks up under pressure and publicly slates his players. He became very unpopular at Derby and could not sustain things at Swansea. He is a classic case of good coach bad manager. Mark Warburton who did very well at Brentford and Rangers and not given enough time to do a tota...
Just what is going on at Reading Football Club? Absolutely unbelievable that Stam's tenure is being allowed to drift on and on. Are the owners so remote from the situation that they just do not realise what is going on? If yet another home defeat didn't start enough alarm bells a 6000 attendance des...
Hi Seb. No i do not think sticking with him and his tactics will pay off in the long term. I think his tactics will be even less effective in League One which is where he will take us. Yes Club's can be very trigger happy but you couldn't accuse Reading of that he has had more than enough time with ...
Great post Victor you are spot on about what being a fan is all about. I wish the arrogant and obnoxious Mr Stam had the slightest idea then he wouldn't shoot himself and the Club in the foot everytime he opens his big mouth. I have supported the Club over 50 years and have never hated any Club empl...
Absolutely unbelievable that Stam and his clogg wearing pals are still at the Club. The man is like a black cloud over the Club and is doing so much damage while the owners continue to show no interest. Come on Gourlay earn your money and get him out by Monday.
Had good ability but no heart and pulled out of every challenge. Might have been decent attacking wise in a 442 but his full back would have no help defensively Joey or Clement next ?
Gary Bowyer would be my choice. He has done incredibly well at Blackburn under the mental Venkys and even better at Blackpool under the bonkers Oystons. Intelligent guy who plays good football and deserves a chance at a relatively more stable club like Reading.
Workington away early 70's mid-week I was one of 12 who made the trip from Reading. Crowd was about 900 and yes you've guessed it a 0-0 draw. Train got back to London about 7.30 next morning and straight to work. Supporters Club legend Mick Foster was on the trip and arranged complimentary tickets f...
You mean well Chris but pity you dont show the sane passion in making a tackle or stopping a cross! Dont you think we are all very disappointed with the shambles the management and players have become since Wembley? The season is going from bad to worse and to be told by Stam, Gourlay and some playe...
Excellent stuff by the Club looks like Fulham fouled up on this one. Would like to see Sam Smith and Josh Barrett put on long term contracts as well now. Barrett has outstanding ability and seems to have added the application to it this season and should get a first team chance soon.
Snowflake, Bobby and Hound your argument seems to be that you like McShane so it was ok for him to shout abuse at a home crowd paying his wages. No matter whst stick a player gets and to be fair McShane doesnt get much he cant react. Also the fans are effing off as attendances tumnle and will contin...

No disputing McShane is s nice bloke off the field but is that relevant ? His reaction as an experienced player and club captain was wrong and the worst by a Reading player since Matt Mills finger.
I am reliably informed that after failing to pass forward to an unmarked Bacuna and passing backwards instead Paul McShane reacted to the crowds moans by turning towards the Lower West and shouting eff off. Not a great reaction by the skipper of a badly underperforming team. Did anyone else witness ...
Can't remember him playing much pre-season. I take your point but it doesn't fill with confidence if he bottles it in front of 2 men and a dog im the checkatrade.
Having seen the highlights i hope neither of our first choice keepers get injured as young Legg had a nightmare. At fault with 5 of the 7. Good to see Josh Barrett doing well again, if handled properly could be a real star for us. Must also agree Popa has had a raw deal. Would put him in front of Mc...
