Not quite sure where to put this, but - interesting article in the Irish Independent yesterday about Irish managers in English football, with Noel Hunt front and centre. Reading's plight also known about across the Irish Sea https://www.independent.ie/sport/soccer/noel-hunt-leading-the-charge-as-iri...

Re: Ex Players

Dagenham & Redbridge, currently 19th in the National League, have signed Michael Hector (now 32) until the end of the season. Was just looking him up as I couldn't remember when he'd left Charlton. He's played 428 games as a professional, and the most for any one club is 93 for us (30 on loan)....

Re: Reading FC Womens World

It is currently, to all intents and purposes, a schoolgirl team playing adult football. Results are showing that. For a team that had zero pre-season, troubles with availability (and recently illness), this season hasn't been a surprise. However. Outwith the second half against Winchester, i can't ...

Link is for a Second Captains podcast episode with Eamon Dunphy about all sorts. But for a few minutes towards the start Eamon talks about Reading and Robin Friday. It's nice to hear from a team member - makes Friday seem more real than mythological, for those like me who didn't know him in his heyd...

Re: £397K on agents fee

Reading spent the second-highest amount on agent fees (league One) in the last 12 months only Derby spent more than £434k I am rather surprised by this given all of our spending restrictions anyone. Is this needs must, or do we deserve less sympathy than we thought? Are you? I’d have thought it was...

Re: Record Watch 23/24

We only took 24 (out of 52) points from our last 13 games. Near as damn it 1.85 points per game. Leicester need a smidge over 2.2 points per game to beat it. It's going to be close. If you know of a way of getting 52 points out of 13 games, please pass on to our current team, would put us right in ...

Re: FA Youth cup 2023/24

Clyde1998 Niall Keown played for Partick Thistle in the Scottish Premiership before seemingly retiring at a young age(?);

Keown is now a youth coach at Oxford United, according to Wikipedia. Seems like he didn't find a club to go to after his contract with Partick expired in 2019.

Re: That Mbengue own goal

Na, that was much more of a freak accident. Hunter cleared it forward just as Rougier fell over. Mbengue kicked it in completely the wrong direction at a stationary Button. Match fixing maybe? No, just shit. I mean, in all fairness, would you, as a betting syndicate, put your money on Mbengue doing...

I was a member of one group, might gave been that one, but my feed was swamped by sub Twitter bullshit so I left. Generally, I find any individual or group that self styles itself as "real" is full of self righteous bollocks and best avoided. One in the eye there for Real Madrid fans. Rea...

There we go, a great idea. We are getting somewhere. Should have been thought of and organised ages ago imo. Off you pop and organise that then. I'm sure there are hordes of supporters who feel shut out by the SbwD gang, that would be thrilled to join you. This doesn't really help with the percepti...
