Re: Shrewsbury Away

Yeah, we had the same issue, not a taxi to be seen. Old Bill got another bus ready, we arrived at the turnstiles just as our second went in. Still got to see all three of their goals! TBF, it's less than a 30 minute walk back into town and Shrewsbury's not short of decent pubs en route back to...

Interesting* that they didn't bother with Royalty points for this. Assumed it would be a popular one. :?

Anyway IN x 4!

Re: CONFIMRED - This might be it!!

Is there the option to still sell to couhig at the original price and all this goes away quickly? Or is couhig no longer interested in that? Bet Couhig would snap Dai's hand off for that. Suspect Dai would rather sell to anyone other than Couhig and Rob probably knows that hence the court case. Rec...

Re: CONFIMRED - This might be it!!

According to those following on Twitter, the club are stating the would be open to putting 6m of any sale proceeds into escrow. Judge closing in on his judgement. 35 minutes of closing remarks. Injunction denied. In his opinion the sale can technically go ahead, but Couhig's charges remain. Escrow ...

Re: Dave Kitson > Shane Long > Kevin Doyle

Yeah that. Obviously longevity is a key attribute in looking back, but what nudges Kitson above Doyle and Long, is his performance against West Ham. Probably the best game by a Reading player I've ever see. Single-handedly tore them apart. Utter class.

Re: VAR

PL / PGMOL chose to use a different semi-automated offside technology than UEFA or FIFA. No idea why they just don't wait until the 2025-26 season to introduce it now.

Re: Away followings

Used to go solo to away games all the time while I was at uni and currently go to home games solo. Always found the experience fine, so long as you're comfortable in your own company. Yeah this. Was with a big group for Wigan, but had a good chat with a solo Reading fan in a pub. Plus Bristol Rover...

Re: Champions League, Europa League & Europa Conference League 24/25

Just watched the pen in slow mo...can't see that he touched it twice If they had a sensor on the ball that said this was the case, then I could believe it, but not by visual inspection. It's absolutely ludicrous that this decided a teams Champions League tie. Also, why disqualify the penalty if you...

Re: Shrewsbury Away

No all EFL matches that fall on an international weekend were on TV regardless of the 3pm KO time or not as the blackout rule doesn't apply. https://www.efl.com/how-to-watch/sky-sports-q-and-a/ Didn't know that. That said, pretty sure every game we've had in League One on an international weekend h...

RG30 Stadium busier than normal for a midweek?

It felt busier than the Exeter game, but they didn't bring loads. North Stand looked pretty empty. Shrewsbury awayesque in terms of buses post-match. Good 20 minute wait for some F1s to get back to the stadium.

Re: Away followings

Solo away days. Anyone have any reccomendations or experience of going to away games alone? I have always lived abroad and worked away so never been able to make it to a game but the stars have alligned and I may make it to Bristol Rovers. Just a bit unsure what it'll be like, none of my mates supp...

Re: Champions League, Europa League & Europa Conference League 24/25

Alisson is the best keeper in the world, but I can't recall him saving too many pens. Do wonder if it crossed Slot's mind to sub on Kelleher, who is remarkably proficient at penalties. Had Liverpool already used up all their substitutions?

6ft Kerplunk
Sutekh Rio Ferdinand seemed very quiet on TNT’s commentary at times last night :?

Not quiet enough though.

Indeed. Which TNT bright spark thought it a good idea to have him on co-comms when we've already got to endure him pre, post and at half time? Ally McCoist is more than capable on his own.

Re: Changes In Football thread

FIFA are continuing trials of a new approach to offside, whereby an attacking player is onside if any part of their torso is in line with a defending player. Currently a player is offside if any body part that can legally score a goal is in advance of a defender. Moving the line back, to where the p...

Re: MATCHWATCH : Wigan Athletic (a)

Prematch we sought out a nearby Joseph Holt pub - the Douglas Bank, a 15 min walk to the ground and 2 pints for £6! (635 bus from the centre). Highly recommended for future visits. Wigan is remarkably well stocked for pubs. Railway Hotel/Swan, John Bull Chop House, The Anvil around the centre Four ...
