Re: Championship Manager Sackings

Ipswich are reviving. They would be mad to sack Keane during an improvement. Coventry have plummeted, however, and Coleman's been there long enough for it all to be down to him. Watch this space.

Re: Premiership 15/16 December

An aspect of the Wolves thing which I haven't seen mentioned is the fixture list. They typically set up fixtures as A H H A A H H A and so on. This is presumably so that no one team is having to play catch up all the time - half the teams have a chance of getting the home points in the bag during th...

No Fixed Abode Giggs is a legend to be fair. Pleased he won. The Welsh vote did it for him.

And the Manchester United vote.

Re: Is this the worst Liverpool squad

I wonder how different yesterday's game would have been if the media hadn't been going on about Gerrard being a diver all week. Webb would surely then have given the stonewall penalty wouldn't he? He knocked the ball past Gallas and was falling before he even reached him - he made contact only cos ...

Re: Is this the worst Liverpool squad

Out of the CL this season = huge losses. After losing to Arsenal they are 5 points off a CL place. Early to say, I know, but without a charge up the table some time and a hope that Villa, Spurs and Citeh can't maintain a challenge, then next year too they will be out. This would be a huge problem fo...

Re: "The Theatre Of Dreams"

It's partly Coppell's fault we are here now. A second half of the second Prem season when he was totally unable to motivate players. Then the same last season. Just a couple of more wins, or even a single one against Brum and we would have been back up, but Coppell admitted he was bricking it before...

Re: World Cup Finals Draw

Of course the point I was making was that we matched every team there except Brazil, not that we were cheated out of it by Johnny Foreigner. It was a response to the miserablists who criticise England at every opportunity and try to pretend the other countries are way better than us.

Re: World Cup Finals Draw

I dispute that some of these teams are better than us. Euro 96 - England had beaten Scotland and blown Holland away; played Germany and were a post and a Gascoigne half a leg form winning on a Golden Goal and Germany won on pens. World Cup 98 - Beckham felled from behind, cynically and viciously. Sh...

Re: Cisse looking to quit

I only saw his goal on TV, but it was very noticeable that he was very much involved in the move as well as scoring the goal. He passed the ball (accurately, knockers should note) and then legged it into the box for the return, much in the manner of a Harper. Defensive midfielder, but not anchored i...

Small statistic

19 games 20 points. The first time this season that we have more points than games.

14 games to get our first 10 points. 5 games to get our next 10.

So are we slowly pulling out of the mire? I say yes.

Re: World Cup Play-Offs

Just incidentally, did Ireland ever suggest a system for having 33 teams there? I can't think of a fair way of this working out. For example: Ireland join a four team group, making five? Seems simple, but then only two teams go through from five instead of two out of four in the other groups. So, if...

Re: World Cup Finals Draw

There's always piles of baloney until they get down to the draw itself. It's no good everyone jetting off to S Africa, then finding it's all over in 10 minutes. And good to see that England are seeded. It seems so random that teams who have to play off (France & Portugal) should be seeds, so jus...

Re: Reading v Liverpool FA cup

But AE was only an example. The point is that if "Ball 32" means nothing to you then you don't open it. If the Ball 32 poster had been half as clever he could have made some mention of the FA Cup or the draw or something, thereby giving people the nod and avoiding the thread police coming ...

The whole year inn will anything ever come of this?

Doubtful. Sepp Blatter has a huge broom and an even bigger carpet should it appear internationals are involved

Good reason to cover up. It should be FIFA that gets investigated for fixing matches.

Re: Brazil v England

I liked the commentators being condescending about the Brazilian defence, then them shutting us out easily and us gifting them one (two central defenders standing and watching a header), should have been two (penalty). How braindead Brown thought it would be a good idea to chest the ball back to Fos...

Re: World Cup Play-Offs

Just supposing France had qualified, leaving Serbia to play off, and Portugal had qualified, leaving Denmark second, does anyone believe that FIFA would then have seeded the play-offs? Serbia and Denmark - no big names and FIFA couldn't give a flying f about them. Tough, they can knock each other ou...
