Re: Summer Rebuild 2016/2017

Yes, some valid points certainly - but Liam Kelly has come through, Quinn hopefully will be back and Beerens did ok in a sort of advanced mid role, so wouldn't be overly concerned Obviously if someone of real quality becomes available you'd snap them up but expect those players will be in short supp...

Re: We Need a Striker!!

I don't think we've the cash for Rhodes

Notice Patrick Bamford may be available. Not seen a lot of him actually playing, but his scoring record in this division is good. Not done anything in the prem for a couple of years now though

Re: Summer Rebuild 2016/2017

If we don't sell anyone, this window is a tough one to call. Ideally we'd get a centre back for cover, but not sure who would move to us solely to cover McShane and Moore who have been generally a very good pairing. Midfield and Wing looks well covered, RB and LB are covered, though I agree only Obi...

Re: Charles Watts to Arsenal

Yes he has been excellent and a big future awaits him I suspect - streets above a lot of the writers you read in the nationals

Good luck to him

Re: BFTF ...Some hazy blobs...(H)

Also, bye to Charles Watts whose last game was today, only felt like mentioning it because I liked his coverage of Reading so it's a shame to to see him go but he moves into a role elsewhere where he gets to cover Arsenal and as an Arsenal fan, well, he wasn't going to say no. Second that. He has b...

Re: MATCHWATCH : Norwich City (h) sponsored by Yuletide Greetings

I read somewhere they have only got 2 points from teams in the top half of the table this year

On paper would be a massive surprise not to win this one, but they do still have some quality. With Williams, obita and swift hopefully back, we really should win this one though

Re: Rumour - Scott Hogan

I don't see many likely destinations in the Prem to be honest. Top 12 are prob aiming higher than that, and unless he fancies being dumped straight into a grim relegation battle at Swansea/Sunderland or the like, he's prob best off at a top end champ club

Re: Rumour - Scott Hogan

Of course we'd like him, but I don't realistically think we'd spend that much money, or he'd be too keen on coming (unless this was part of a bigger - i.e. 25m - investment on players) 9m is probably about right in a world where Matej Vydra costs 8m. Clearly a good player, but the injury record is a...

Re: Pure Speculation - Tshibola

If Williams goes in Jan (my bet is Swansea will try to take him) then it would be worth a look.

We seem very anti-Loans this year though after last year's shambles

Re: My second team -Reading

good read. Very similar to my own, including previous supporting a random northern football club in the lower ends of the league due to parents moving us there for a couple of years in my early teens Now living in Reading, Having kids and wanting to get them into football got me into going to Readin...

not really a surprise that, from arguably the 2 most middle class clubs in the division. Though Brighton may well argue their case.

Re: Man Utd (A)

Possibly not the whole allocation, but still enough to earn them more money than by subsidising the tickets I expect. Esp as I believe all ticket sales are split

Re: Man Utd (A)

Bit cynical that on the pricing.

RFC could easily have left it at £45 and blamed Utd. The commitment to the prices for the replay if needed (and certainly not an impossibility) also suggests they are not behind the high ticket prices. They could charge double the £20 quoted and still sell out

Re: Man Utd (A)

I don't think enough is done to congratulate and publicise this kind of gesture from the club. Its an outstanding gesture, and their commitment to low ticket prices for away fans is very very commendable. Its such a shame that so few clubs have returned the gesture. Man U should be embarrassed that ...

Re: BFTG Leeds

Obviously difficult to judge only from the highlights, but barely looked like Leeds had a chance bar the goal either. Pen was a joke, but suppose we've had some dodgy ones Swift missing is starting to bite, esp with both Williams and Obita out. I much prefer the 3 5 2 to the 4 3 3, and Obita is pret...

Re: BFTG - Wednesday Home

First half was dismal. Clearly a hangover from Fulham, but I guess going in without conceding was job done 2nd half was great, really enjoyed it. As soon as we scored, I thought we were excellent, tackled hard and moved the ball around nicely Seeing the highlights again on sky, not sure how Wallace ...

I think you're right.

Would like to see Harriott come in for Beerens as well, but don't think it will happen
