Re: How Nervous Are We All?

No nerves at all. Maybe it's because I've just grown older and have become resigned to the fact that life happens anyway. Looking forward to enjoying the day in its entirety - seeing old faces and friends, and soaking up the excitement and general good-naturedness of a great football day out. Group ...

Re: Huddersfield fan here

I'm looking forward to meeting my Northern cousins.

They talk straight, but more importantly, they have fantastic trains.

Re: MATCHWATCH : Huddersfield Town v Reading, Play Off Final, 29 May 2017 (Wembley)

The bullshit written about football these days doesn't just 'verge' on hysteria - it is hysteria.

It's (still) a simple team sport.

Eleven against eleven.

One team wins.

By placing the ball in the net more often than the opponent.

The rest is gas and piss.

Re: May the best team win!

I couldn't give a flying f u ck about getting into the Hairband League. It's a crock of Sky'd-up shite. So a play-off final for me is an exciting end to a season. If we win, I'm happy. If we lose, it's something I've become accustomed to experiencing before and I have trained my inner-workings to de...

Re: Play off final merchandise

I was hoping there would be a t-shirt with a photograph of Ray Illsley and the word 'arrest' just above it.

It's probably not going to happen.

Re: Huddersfield fan here

Hello Huddersfield fan. A quick word of welcome and appreciation of your friendly words. I have come across (not literally, of course) quite a few 'Udders followers - especially in the past couple of seasons. They have proved to be the most friendly and likeable sorts. Still the best game I've seen ...

Re: RFC hooliganism?

The Reading 'Silent Squad' are out for this one. We wear gas masks for bigger 'offs', but against Huddersfield we're gonna maintain the 'friendly conversation' ruse. (Once we get invited back to Huddersfield addresses after developing genuine friendships then it's straight into wives and daughters w...

Re: BFTG - Fulham

The least nervous I've been before a Reading match for many of the thirty-odd years I've been attending. The most nervous I've been in a seat at a game for many a year. Not that 'up and down screaming' sort of nerves. More a gnawing, vicious twisting of the gut that made my teeth clench and mouth sc...

Re: Opposition fans back from the game

I'm with Leon on this.

Goodbye Fulham.

See you again soon.

(Not that 'we'll never play you again' schizzle you came out with when the Old Grocer was in charge of your rabble.)

The throbbing pulse of Leeds United's malevolent heart continues to beat.

Provincial.

Tall floodlights though, once.

Cheers.

Re: BFTS - Brighton (A)

Been watching Reading since 1985. Not the only football I've been watching over the years as those who know me will be aware. But...football at most clubs similar to those of the size of RFC follow cyclical patterns of success and decline. For the die-hard active fan who invests a lot of money, time...

Re: BFTG Derby

Couldn't have been more of a contrast to last week's game against Huddersfield. Brentford in midweek was just weird, we didn't look so awful and were picked apart by an attack that buzzes around you like a barber's razor and we got ripped up the anus 4-1. But Derby? Like someone else here said it wa...

Re: Away fans that surprised you

For me it's always been Wealdstone's psychotic turn out at Elm Park in the FA Cup back in the late 80s.

They were at it that day - in and out of the ground.

Re: BFTG - 'uddersfield

Stam's team is encouraging me to buy tickets to games at the Spakker Dome again. Certainly got my money's worth yesterday afternoon. And on my way in to town, with beautiful blue skies and a warm Indian summer breeze rippling the trees and blowing up skirts, I was actually looking forward to it all....

sandman What a friendly bunch Huddersfield fans are, had a great chat with them after the game.

This before and after the game.

Absolutely no reflection of the standard posturing that took placing in the stadium.

Re: BFTG Birmingham

Very solid looking last night against a very capable and busy looking Birmingham City side. Absorbing game for me. And much to like, especially in comparison to the Ipswich game. Williams is frustrating in the extreme. If he's going to be persisted with then surely some coaching would assist his gam...

Re: BFTG - Ipswich home

First visit to the Spakker Dome this season. An improvement. More cohesive. Still a work in progress in its infancy but a collection of players who mainly appear to be purposeful. Not sure about the constant passing about at the back as against better opponents than Ipswich it has the potential to g...
