John Smith
John Smith Reading 2-0 Gills

A much changed side gets the job done. Gillingham aren't of the better League 1 sides and can't see how they will cause us much bother

oxf*rd me I'm good

Played!

Re: Fulham (H) Predictions

We look threadbare, but Ilori is back available and JvdB and McShane have had a week to recover. Same with JdB. Barrow's fitting in and Clement's had two games to get up to speed. Obita's availability could be crucial. 4 at the back with Blackett at LB has me worried. But we are diffixult to beat at...

Re: Team for Gillingham (H)

Seems like much the same as last year. Wear the opposition out and bore the concentration out of them so they tire, slip up and we capitalise in the final 30 minutes.

Unless we're pressed high and can't find our rhythm early on, falling behind.

Re: Team for Gillingham (H)

Welp, team did what they needed to and with a few youngsters given a run out to boot, BBCRB boys were impressed with Andersson and Quinn, it will be interesting to see what those who attended thought. I'm assuming Quinn will be injured again by Saturday, so not sure their view matters for him.

Re: Gillingham (H) Predictions

Much the same side bar injury / suspension. We make hard work of it but squeek through 2-1. Mendes and Loader if they play otherwise Popa and Evans

Re: BFTG - QPR (A)

Stam made no excuses and said quote, "it looked like we weren't ready for it" which is a concern. He went further and said, "We knew QPR’s intention to press us high up the pitch, not giving us any opportunity to play out and create chances". Slightly more concerning, if he knew...

Re: RUMOUR - Nelson Oliveira

It seems to me the new owners have been more willing than any others in our past to splash the cash, but have a limit for what they'll spend on a certain level of quality and unfortunately fees have gone absolutely bonkers this summer. I know McCormack went for £11m a few years ago and there's been ...

Re: The Academy/Development squads watch thread 2015//16

I guess the most important question is not whether you forge a career at Chelsea, but whether your career kicks off better than at Reading. Do more Chelsea graduates make it in the Championship or PL and sooner than Reading's. No point going there with ambitions of getting into their first team, but...

Snowflake Royal No thoughts on Richards' debut? Anyone?

Barely noticed him (which is a good thing I suppose) we were camped out in our half pretty much and he didn't have an opportunity to show case anything or impose himself on the game.

Thank you CR

Re: MATCHWATCH : Queen's Park Rangers (a) not sponsored by opening day depression

You don't need to take the positives. You should just shrug and see how the next two months go. We were awful plenty last season. And finished third. There's still plenty of transfer window. We've got a whole host of injuries. We've not had the best pre-season. It's only one game. I'm genuinely surp...

Re: RUMOUR - Nelson Oliveira

Fullham up next this Tuesday, what'd you reckon? You can't judge a team based on one, two or five performances at the start of the season. Please can you just pause for one moment. A basket case of a club like QPR beat us 2-0, could have easily been 4-0 yet no one is too concerned? Can I borrow you...

WAZZOCK Might as well write the season off.

Nothing good has ever happened to a team that lost on the opening day, EVER.

Re: MATCHWATCH : Queen's Park Rangers (a) not sponsored by opening day depression

The main question for me, is what the oxf*rd do we do in training and for fitness. And when scouting players. We've been smashed by injuries for years. No one ever recovers on schedule, so many get injured and so many have instant relapses or new injuries. If we didn't have half a dozen players inju...

Re: MATCHWATCH : Queen's Park Rangers (a) not sponsored by opening day depression

Big Ern How long untill someone rolls out the "we lost to Plymouth on the opening days of the season and then won the league" line ?

I prefer to play the longer game and reflect on when we won the league having drawn the first game and lost 4 out of the next 5.

Kelly plays Washington in... spaffs wide. We could easily be 3-0 down apparently.
