Re: BFTG - Cheltenham

Well. League One is shit isn't it  First off. Well done to the team for securing their first league win since Feb. That will be a massive confidence boost to all around the club. Now to the football. When we had the ball on the deck we looked good. It is great to see the youngsters going gung h...

Re: BF I follow Barnsley

A truly woeful, awful win,. The first half not a shot on target, gifted two really dubious reds especially the second. Cabral - 7 one good save kept us in, but poor distribution. Araruna - 5 sloppy. Morrison - 6 better but a bit slow. Moore - 5 not good enough. Richards - 4 wont be here long. Rinom...

Re: BF I follow Barnsley

1st Half I said last week if we play a team that presses higher up the pitch it will be a good test to see where we are...still some way to go. Barnsley played a high line and had 3 players setup to press the defence. It put us under pressure for most of the half and we were forced into rushed balls...

Re: BFTiFollow - Luton (h) - Carabao Cup

Puscas’s hold up play in the first half won a lot of plaudits, but that’s all forgotten after a poor second half. Contrastingly Tetek barely had a sniff in the first half (understandable given age and experience), but is winning loads of praise for one moment of magic in the second half. Seems to b...

Re: BFTiFollow - Luton (h) - Carabao Cup

I've seen a few points on here and on twitter of people moaning about the team selection and tactics today, which I respect but I have to disagree with. I think you might be missing the bigger picture a bit. We played Derby 2 days ago up to the game against Luton yesterday with our strongest 11. An ...

Re: BFTiFollow - Luton (h) - Carabao Cup

I don’t think our strength in depth is that bad. Assuming the same starting 11 as last Saturday the bench for Barnsley will be something like... Southwood Meite McIntyre Araruna Puscas Aluko Holmes or Bristow That’s not too shabby. Replace Aluko with a better winger and Holmes/Bristow with a new ce...

Re: BFTiFollow - Luton (h) - Carabao Cup

Puscas 5 - He is not a loan striker at all. Totally agree - I'm certain he was a permanent transfer. £8million or so IIRC. Agree with most of your post, will only pick on areas I don't agree with i.e Baldock's rating. He's still a cut above the rest. I mean, Puscas stood there picking his nose when...

BFTiFollow - Luton (h) - Carabao Cup

Let's be real here. This game was an opportunity for non-first teamers to show what they can do with little emphasis on tactics. So anyone expecting to see an all action performance and the team setup to their tactical best in the space of 2 days is off their head on meth. Is playing Man Utd ressies...

Re: BFTifollow - Derby

I'll do this a little differently. 1st Half Summary, 2nd Half, Ratings and Observations. 1st Half We absolutely bodied Derby. We passed the ball well around the back without much pressure and patiently waited for an opportunity to go forward. This is the change in tactic though...One of Swift/Olise/...

Re: (Soon to be) CONFIMRED - Aleksandar Stanojević

I would be disappointed with Bowen if he accepted this. If he really wants to be a manager he should refuse the Dai's offer and find a job elsewhere to be a football manager.

Loader officially signs for Porto and says this as part of his opening statement. "I feel that it is a club with a winning mentality, with a huge history and that likes to integrate young players in the main team, and still remains at the top." Strange move. I am also a Porto fan and have...

Re: The Academy/Development squads watch thread 2015//16

At the moment I wouldn't really blame any of our youngsters wanting to drop down a tier or 2 to develop. Especially if they are 20 or under. Nolan has probably seen what's happened/happening to Barrett, Loader, Olise, McIntyre, Southwood, Osho, East, Frost, Howe, Watson, House etc. And decided his b...

Re: January Transfer Window

Good luck to him. Good player who has upped his work rate. Doesn't really fit our shape - you'll not often be bringing on such a young inexperienced player to change your shape to try to win a game. Lots of potential, and should do well in L1. Would have liked to see him get a few more games here f...

Re: BFTG - Blackpool

Probably go along with that, but you can see what leaving has done for players like Antonio, looks comfortable at Premier League level. I don't think Barrett will quite reach that level but has a chance to be a very good Championship player, he is still only 21 so time yet to develop, but probably ...

Re: BFTG - Blackpool

If the phone caller was, say a plumber, you would have most likely said “there’s some guy (or bloke) on the radio says we should have picked the first team”. So was the problem really in what he said, or the fact he was a company director? Just asking. I think he was trying to compare running his c...

Re: BFTG - Derby

I agree with first poster on here. We were lucky to be honest and 3 nil flattered us. I'll go through each half and then do player ratings. 1st Half When I saw the line up for us I was shocked at how little defensive cover and mobility we had in the middle. We started brightly and João setup Meite f...

Re: The Academy/Development squads watch thread 2015//16

Anyone clamouring for Barrett and Olise to be included in the first team should have watched tonight- Barrett did absolutely nothing and Olise has skill but just does everything at half pace. Jack Nolan was my Reading player of the match however 18 year old United left winger Traore was the best pl...
