As he watched him amble into the changing rooms, Doob's thought up a 'novel' initiation that new boy Noel would never forget!

Re: Fans of other clubs expectations of Reading this season

I'm frequently reminded by Mrs Toad of my mid-season quote "I just can't see Fulham and Bolton scoring enough goals to stay up".

How wrong I was.

How cruel she can be.

Re: Oh dear.....

It's a signing, that's all (if it happens, of course). Just like Kebe was a signing, Matejovski, Fae, etc, etc. I never took the view that Kebe was signed as a direct replacement for an ailing Little; he was just a 400k addition to the squad. Fae and Matejovsky were international midfielders from r...

Re: Starting XI against Forest

On the assumption that Pompey get £12-13m for Muntari, do we think that they'll have enough money to buy Shorey and SWP. Chelsea will want a fair wedge for him. I think any Shorey deal (if it came about) would have to be a player plus cash deal if Pompey are the suitors.

Re: KEVIN HARPER?!! (Media don't like us /can't spell thread)

From Vital Football...

"...The left-backs future seems to all but certainly be away from Berkshire following his admission from a full-strength line-up for Reading`s first game of their Sweden tour..."

Admission?

This isn't right...is it???

We'll finish 7th. By three goals. On the last day of the season. Despite winning 4-0.

Re: No ambition...

rfcjoe Ahhh quality, another no ambition,we're shit thread. Brilliant!

We're not sh*t! But we'll be conceivably worse off if we jettison our better players without bring some experience in.

As for 'no ambition', I'm struggling to think of reasons why I should retract that statement... :|

No ambition...

According the SS, Skysports.com understands Norwich are closing in on the signing of Fiorentina striker Arturo Lupoli. This fella was mustard when he played in the CCC. Which begs the question, if Bugs and co. know about every deal going on within the CCC, and a player of his calibre is available, w...

Re: Oh dear.....

I think the key frustration here is 'lack of ambition'. Its all very well picking up replacement players, but if they're unproven and fail to adapt, by November you're 20 points off the pace, and praying for 3 or 4 teams to spectacularly collapse in order for your team to be in with a shout for the...

Re: Oh dear.....

The facts are thus: - It is inevitable that, following relegation after two years in the PL, that you will lose some players to others teams. - Kitson is arguably the most difficult person in the side to replace, given his work-rate and skill level. - There have been some very good quality signings ...

Re: Oh dear.....

I reckon Noel Hunt will be in a Reading shirt by the beginning of the season....and he will be our only buy. Looks like Hammond didn't get such a cracking deal after all! When you look at the squad number changes, HRK (the left winger, NOT the striker ;) ), Karacan and Church etc will all get run-ou...
