Re: When Reading became immortal

Crusader Royal That’s a very common chant. Variation on the Man Utd original and missing a couple of lines but bizarre for anyone who has attended games over the last 20 years to not have heard it….

When Reading became immortal

Which one of you wrote this then? Was sent this from Mundial this morning, interesting opening gambit to an article, quoting a chant that I've certainly never heard, doesn't scan in the slightest, and I suspect has never been sung once. Decent enough read for a trip down memory lane though. (edit -...

Re: England v Slovenia

Doesn't solve the most obvious issue, which is a lack of balance stemming from not having a proper left sided player in the team (is it the 2000's again)

Re: England v Slovenia

looking like his only change is Gallagher in for TAA. Why he won't even least try Bellingham deeper and Foden in the hole is maddening.

Re: Football Rel8d Gripes

The performative element of so many "limbs" really takes any of the joy out of it for me.

Tumbling uncontrolled down a terrace > having AIDS > throwing pints around after a goal.

Re: New Kits 2019/20

I am really liking retro Adidas and the return to the classic three stripe sleeves and old logo. But United's simplified badge is horrific. This is their new third kit, which is otherwise great. Not too sure on the blue away kit. https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhzrA-WtzBF...

Re: FA Cup Changes

It comes down to what one thinks is best..

30 mins to try and win the game (you)

a guaranteed replay (the entire football pyramid below the top 6)

Yes, i'm being hyperbolic

Re: FA Cup Changes

I think the thing being missed is that in a game that is a draw after 90 minute, the current system guarantees more revenue (and a day out, visit from a big club etc etc) for the smaller club (the replay) Whereas the proposed system means they could well, and likely will, (due to fitter/deeper squad...

Re: FA Cup Changes

People need to think less about the money the odd replay makes against a big PL team, and more about the magic of small teams actually getting through, at which point they will play bigger teams who made it through. Its possible teams that avoid replays and go through will make more money than from...

Re: FA Cup Changes

That's why we have league formats to establish the best team. The more times you play each other, the closer you will get to working out who is the best. and why do we have cup formats? Possibly so a small club can have their well earned day in the sun against a much bigger team Anyway RIP the FA c...

Re: MATCHWATCH : Bristol Rovers (a)

Totally dominant first half, then apparently decided it would be fun to allow them to grow into it after half time. 2 crucial blocks/saves (couldn’t tell from the other end) kept us clear and we saw out the rest of the game relatively comfortably. Good noise from the Reading lot, not a peep out of R...
