Re: Paolo Di Canio vs Leon Clarke

Which has more of which? My experience of this is limited to the Bay of Naples (South) and Genoa (North). I got the impression that the North is more right wing, Naples and Ischia certainly both appeared to have strong Socialist and Communist traditions. Genoa has or had some left to it, but that w...

Re: Paolo Di Canio vs Leon Clarke

WTF does Di canio's personal views have to do with it, clearly Clarke says "he wants me to run again tomorrow!!", which indicates the reason he is upset is that the physio has told him he has to do more physical excercise the next day. Quite a common attitude among players. Let's take Rod...

Re: Paolo Di Canio vs Leon Clarke

http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/1506262/Im-a-fascist-not-a-racist-says-Paolo-di-Canio.html This article pretty much sums it up. He is an open fascist and sees no problem with that, and sayin 'I'm not racist' doesn't really cut it when the political parties linked with fascism in Italy whip up racism...

Re: Paolo Di Canio vs Leon Clarke

@ Yately. Yep. Because it's impossible to employ black people to do a job, and at the same time be racist. All those slave owners down the ages, Guardian readers the lot of 'em. Hmmm.....do you not see any difference between paid employees and slaves? There must be thousands of examples of racist p...

Royal Lady That's one way for Di Canio to get rid of him. From what I've heard - he's looking to ship out a few more too....

Are you accusing PDC of being a racist?

Why not? He is.

Yep, the crowd have defo been taking lessons from N Korea in the video, but the sound is genuine, taken from a Bremen : St Pauli game you can see in this video by Ultra Sankt Pauli, also featuring crowdsurfing, and German versions of 'I love you baby' and YNWA: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1A2r8vs...

Re: For those interested in mad Stadia design...

That multi tierd main stand looks completely mental  The new south stand and 'kuchen block' ('cake stand', it's the posh end) opposite this new wave plan have already been built. As they're rebuilding on the same site they have to do it stand by stand. @friday, i'm convinced some seated in tho...

Re: FAO Daytrippers

The Video Inn in Twyford used to be great, now a shop selling expensive kids stuff. Twyford really seems to be going from decent village to wealthy commuter play pen.

Its all about love film now Floyd.

Reminds me of that scene in 'looking for eric' where the main character explains that very point.

Re: FAO Daytrippers

We're all actually c*nts as football fans. Our behaviour is risible; we are selfish, self-important bores who invest a disproportionate amount of energy, angst and analysis in something so utterly meaningless in the grand scheme of things. And that is because the meaningful things in life are eithe...

Re: Who's shitting it?

I'm so relaxed it's unbelievable. As far as I am concerned we've already lost and I've reconciled myself with the loss of Long, Kebe and Feds. After our last two finals, and the absolutely crushing feeling of defeat, I've decided to just enjoy the day out and be thankful that from nowhere we've got...

Re: CeLOLtic

Its a barmy post. They did win the war of independence for the most part despite having less men and equipment then the British. They compromised on the north when Britain promised 'immediate and terrrible' war if they carried on. The Dail election of 1918 gave Sinn Fein 70% of the vote. To claim re...

Re: CeLOLtic

I agree there is a historical difference between the IRA of 1920's and the incarnations post 1969 but from what I understand of the Celtic song book the latter are referred too just as much. Admittedly I haven't studied all of their hate-filled lyrics to any substantial level but I've seen Celtic p...

So when it's 'Ten German Bombers' its football banter but when its 'Celtic symphony' its sectarian bigotry? I don't dislike 'Ten German Bombers' personally and its actually sung quite a lot by St Pauli fans to wind up Nazis in Germany. I just don't see why everyone gets so worked up about Celtic wh...
