Re: Ex Players

hmmm. Not always in agreement with Ian, but Olde Biscuit's claim that the knee " is not a gesture in favour of racial equality, it is just a fashion that young men love to go along with and be part of, it’s not for unity, it’s for fun " should not go unchallenged. Still cannot see why it ...

Re: Opposition fans back from the game

I still think they should have a game clock managed by the ref/fourth official. It can be connected to a digital clock at either end of the ground, available for all to see, and also connected to the other officials' watches for continuity and back up. Therefore, no added time, and you get a guarant...

Re: Opposition fans back from the game

Will be interesting to get their take on Lumley's antics at the end. I always find it strange that fans can be incredibly abusive to players, but if a player gives a bit back it's the most scandalous thing to ever happen. I think it's great when players have that kind of interaction with the crowd,...

Re: Ex Players

Is Omar Richards still injured at Forest? Seems to have disappeared without a trace Bit of discussion here on him and another player (to summarise - he is still injured and has been since he was signed. No idea about when he will be available. Lots of fan frustration in the comments) https://twitte...

Yeah bit of a drive-by on Pog there. He was limited but he always put in the work and was never a disruptive presence.

Re: Ex Players

Winston Biscuit Emi Martinez has said he was doing that gesture at the French fans who were booing him as he went up to collect it

That makes it even funnier for me.

Re: Ex Players

Not sure if anybody saw last night but ex-loanee Emi Martinez saved a pen and played well in a cup final. Nice to see him doing well after being excellent for us. Think it may have been mentioned a few times on Twitter :) Fair play to the chap, liked him a lot when he was here, was clearly a step a...

Re: The magic of the FA Cup

Franchise FC The FA Cup is now more Tommy Cooper than Harry Houdini

I heard someone say the magic of the FA Cup is like the magic John Wayne Gacy used to do at kids' parties.

Re: Ex Players

You could argue Mariappa did the club a favour by getting off the wage bill after relegation...

It's a shame it didn't work for Ezatolahi here, he looked very good in patches. Hope he does play today, we'll likely get a mention on commentary.

Re: Ex Players

Not an ex player but looks like Paunovic could be in line for a return to management in Mexico with Chivas. I'll always wish Pauno the best. He was a genuinely decent bloke but just got a bit out of his depth and ran out of steam last season. He was dignified and classy until the end and as far as ...

Re: Next seasons kit choice?

Want a red and yellow hooped Reading shirt... Yes! The red and yellow hooped shirt in the 90s was great. That and the blue and yellow hooped one were so great. I also love the 'Spain' one from 2001/2 time. I think there's a market for retro shirts, like we saw with the Robin Friday one a few years ...

Re: Opposition fans back from the game

A friend of mine met a Huddersfield fan and his 8 year old son in town after the game on Saturday. Apparently it was the kid's first away game and they came for a weekend stay for his birthday, and he was totally depressed by their lack of fight. My mate was never going to gloat but told the kid to ...

Re: Next seasons kit choice?

I think we will wear it against teams that play in red and probably at Swansea and maybe even Norwich. Any game where we could probably wear the home shirt, and the away might not be enough of a contrast. They will have to get it into the rotation enough for it to be a justifiable purchase for suppo...

Rumour that Michael Hector is apparently training with Reading.

Confirmed by the manager today. Hope we don't sign the tosser.

Re: Opposition fans back from the game

Every forum is full of people proclaiming their club to be the pinnacle of the sport, and every other club is shit and useless etc. There are lots who pride themselves on big following so will always comment on attendances, and then others who bemoan the stadium not being in the middle of town. I'm ...

Re: Opposition fans back from the game

Bit late but a Stoke supporting colleague who went to the game said we were a shit long ball team and will get relegated this season. Hard to reason with someone like that but I made the point that I think we mix it up pretty well and there's a difference between a long pass and a long ball, and th...
