Re: Opposition fans back from the game - 24/25 page 225 onwards

I'd say one of the reasons we're sixth is because we weren't great for large parts of last night's game, but we won it 3-1. Good teams win when they're playing badly, bad teams can have loads of pressure and possession but if they can't convert that to goals they won't be successful. Also on the pot...

Re: MATCHWATCH : Shrewsbury Town (a)

6ft Kerplunk This is dog dirt isn't it, not sure how we're winning this given how many good chances they've created. Interesting that the commentator thinks the takeover talks fell apart last week...

He was talking about Shrewsbury.

Re: CONFIMRED - The final countdown

Key to remember that Couhig isn't some humble Southern gent, just trying to make his way and is being shat on by the big bad CCP in the form of Dai. They're two egotistical, hard-headed, greedy bastards looking to maximise the cash in their pockets and win this argument, even if for different reason...

Re: CONFIMRED - The final countdown

Yeah, John Gymshark very quickly put out a video saying he was a Villa fan and wasn't buying us, but wished us well nevertheless.

That Storey claimed he was buying us but I think it was just a publicity stunt, ironic as it was because no one has heard from him since.

Re: Ex Players

Didn't seem worth a new thread for this one. There's a brief mention and photo of Reading players playing netball in the 1930s as part of a wider attempt to make training more interesting and less routine in the 1920s and 1930s. https://www.theguardian.com/sport/2025/mar/28/the-forgotten-story-of-a...

Re: CONFIMRED - The final countdown

Mid Sussex Royal Ball back in Couhig's court I guess....it at least confirms an intent to sell given alternative security offered.

I wonder what this is? Dai's place in London?

An envelope with £40 in it.

Re: CONFIMRED - The final countdown

A mature update, not sugar coating things.

I feel like it's a good sign that after Friday, Platek (we presume) is still interested and they're working on getting the deal done.

Re: Under 10

That’s some list, and some forgotten, some best forgotten, but to help kick restart the missing name thing, I’ll raise you an Andrija Novakovich (3 league games) I remember someone telling me they'd seen him in a youth game and that he was doing to be our next great striker. Just looked and he's no...

Re: CONFIMRED - This might be it!!

Echoing what others have said here, I believe Couhig would be just as bad as Dai for slightly different reasons. It seems to me that his intention is to effectively asset strip the club and turn us over for as much profit as he can get within a couple of years. Fail to achieve that, and we'll be eve...

One of the great performances on the right wing was of course Shaun Cummings at Cardiff in the play-offs.

Re: CONFIMRED - This might be it!!

I just hope that the judge - I presume it's a judge presiding over this case, I am not au fait with these kind of proceedings - is able to come to a definite conclusion (in our favour obviously) with no recourse for an appeal by Couhig, so we can close this down and then Platek can complete the deal...

Re: Players on international duty

Andre Garcia called up for England U18's....well deserved. Brilliant - will it be broadcast on Sky or somewhere or will it just get ignored in favour of the tedious senior games? I don't imagine it'll be on TV. Probably best to keep an eye on the FA's official social channels for any match footage.

Re: Players on international duty

I imagine if both clubs would rather call the game off, then the league probably give a bit of leeway. It's not like we're in the Prem and they're trying to fulfil a load of different kick off times to get us on TV all over the world.

Re: Ex Players

Sam Smith was reported missing in the aftermath of yesterday's game. Fortunately a Detective Mbengue of Thames Valley Police found him alive and well, if a little shellshocked, nestling quietly in Tyler Bindon's back pocket. Not a huge disgrace to be marked out of the game by the best player in the...

Re: Promotion thread 2024/25

Keep playing like we did last night, we'll go into the play-offs as the form team then who knows?

Once you get to the one-off final, it's all down to who has the minerals on the day. Form doesn't really matter at that point.
