Re: Bindon to be sold

We'd obviously have to take £9m for him, but unfortunately I fear we'll either lose him in January for a pittance or for free in the summer. The only way we're keeping him for longer in my opinion is if we get promoted, which I can't see happening for a good while yet. The boy is going to the top th...

Re: Your worst 11 since supporting RFC?

Here goes... Federici - threw the ball into the net in the cup semi final and made four mistakes in our first week in the prem Graeme Murty - he was an £800,000 winger when he arrived Chris Armstrong - nowhere near as good as Shorey Martin Keown - past it Geoff Barker - my only memory is his partic...

Re: Ex Players

There are players whose style is suited to a higher level, and can struggle to stand out in the harum scarum Championship.

Having said that, Olise showed flashes of brilliance early on and in the lockdown season, and his development since then tells you everything you need to know.

Re: Ex Players

Was sorry to see Mola go. Had a lot of quality about him and in the last third of the season I thought he was excellent. My only thought regarding him going to Bristol Rovers, is that he probably thought he'd be more likely to be at a settled club without the external issues we have, and is not like...

Re: The Academy/Development squads watch thread 2024/25

Indeed. Necessity (or in this case an uninterested billionaire knob head) is certainly the mother of invention in our situation.

Re: The Academy/Development squads watch thread 2024/25

I really enjoyed it last night. It looked like two absolutely top under age teams playing each other, which is remarkable given the circumstances. I thought Rushesha looked superb and I hope he gets some chances in the first team as I think he has a lot to offer. You can also see how the likes of Ak...

Re: Ex Players

There's no way to tell I suppose but it may have just postponed the inevitable. As you say though I think Dai would have gone mad in the transfer market and we would have been laden with duds on massive money. I think the current situation is sending me a bit mad thinking about what could have happe...

Re: Ex Players

So 2 goals and 2 assists in the Bundesliga for genuine star Olise today. Have a bit of pride in seeing him come through the ranks but reminder of what might have been I have lots of pride seeing him do well. It'd be nice if we got a bit more recognition though; I know he came into our academy fairl...

last heard of driving lorries wasn't he? ...such a shame Purveyor of my favourite Reading goal ever Must admit I have no idea what he's been up to but as long as he's happy and healthy I don't mind. Re: Ex Players

A real former player blast from the past came across my desk yesterday. One of my uncles was getting a coffee near his office someone in the square mile, and he swore blind that sat at one of the tables was none other than Jimmy Quinn. Unfortunately he isn't very technically literate so was unable ...

Re: Rumour: Azeez to Millwall

Sad to see him go as he had a great second half of last season, and is an academy product who is very likeable. However, good players like him will be leaving us until we get into a higher division and become more competitive, so to get a fee instead of losing him on a free is what we should be look...

Re: Ex Players

Found myself in Welling Uniteds Park View Stadium on Saturday. Wellings assistant manager being our own once upon a time, Kevin Watson. Was a massive fan of Kevin Watson. A fantastic passer of the ball; a really elegant player. In many ways he made more of a difference when he came in at the same t...
