Re: Man down -SCIAG

Thankyou everyone Tom (as he was away from HNA) had struggled for many years and this was a clearly thought through decision he made because he could no longer struggle. He is, I hope, free now. He was a lovely lad, wicked sense of humour, smart and caring. It is so helpful to see he was liked and r...

Re: Man down -SCIAG

Brogue Christ. This is awful so sorry CR. How old was he if I may ask? And yes he was the go on here for youth updates. Although I would question his unwavering support of teddy howe and how it was a mistake we let him go.

He had just turned 30

Re: Man down -SCIAG

windermereROYAL He was last online today, please tell me this isn`t some sick joke.

The last thing I would joke about is the death of my son. Why even think it ?
I have access to his laptop, I accessed HNA using his stored password precisely because I wanted to be sure.
I hope you are happy with my explanation.

Man down -SCIAG

Sad to inform the board that one of our members has left us. On Thursday evening SCIAG made the decision to take his own life. His first Reading game was aged 6 when he watched the warm up, declared it had been brilliant and could he go home now. He had a special affinity with our Academy sides and ...

Re: The phoenix club thread

Good lord no. Sod that. Fair enough, bit too sociable for you I would imagine, and not easily available on tv…. I like quality, I appreciate it's not for everyone though. Let’s be honest here - you are just rather blinkered. If your driving force was quality you’d have swapped your Royals TV pass f...

Re: Under 10

I saw Dave Mooney play for us (we lost on pens to Stoke). Later career suggests maybe we could have given him a few more cup games. Aaron Giamettai - 2 apps Literally no idea. Any help? Saw him make his debut which IIRC was away at Bradford. Looked like a rabbit caught in headlights, no idea how he...

Re: The phoenix club thread

Was thinking would I go local. And the idea of supporting Cambridge through shit and shitter, or going to Peterborough, Stevenage, Ipswich or Norwich is pretty nauseating. Changing to another FL team is probably not going to be for many, but once you get into non league it is a real breath of fresh...

Re: The phoenix club thread

Nah f*ck those guys. It's interesting - not sure I would change affiliation - have nothing against Reading City. Would probably also follow a local club instead - in my case probably Truro City just because of location. Was thinking would I go local. And the idea of supporting Cambridge through shi...

Re: CONFIMRED - The final countdown

IF RFC has put forward the offer of putting £6M into Escrow, and if that's the only thing holding up the sale to Platek, then where is the issue for Mr Couhig? If he thinks he is owed £12m? He won’t think that. He may be working on asking for 12 and being prepared to graciously accept 8. Reading ma...

Re: The phoenix club thread

Simply getting behind Reading City might not be the worst option. Established club, with a ground. An influx of support would potentially let them rise rapidly up the leagues and they may not be averse to becoming the home of former Royals, although they might hate the idea . To be honest it would b...

Re: The phoenix club thread

Are we at a point that it would be too late for any phoenix club to enter the pyramid in 25/26, so people would be stuck supporting Reading City in the interim? Probably, I’m pretty sure the deadline for clubs wanting to get promoted has passed. Plus if we haven’t got a ground then not sure leagues...

Re: The phoenix club thread

wycombe v reading ladies got a crowd of 500+ the other day. and they are in the bottom league along with teams such as woodley ladies. i dont think 4k attendances unrealistic. What the club lacks in terms of ticket sales it can make up for with alcohol sales, since I believe the rules may be a bit ...

Re: CONFIMRED - The final countdown

That's obviously the fear but didn't the club suggest £6m escrow on Friday? The judge suggested this to the club, didn't he? And Couhig's case is going ahead with or without a sale. Dai risks losing all of his money if the club is wiped out, so the sensible (ha!) option is to go ahead with the sale...

Re: CONFIMRED - The final countdown

The women's accounts were also published. The company was wound up, and there seems to be some sort of adjustment to do that. So I've wondered if thats part of the inter-company transfer on the men's accounts. That's the £8 million inter co provision in the RFC accounts. As the loan has been writte...

So 17 million of the 21 million loss is ... mysterious ... amazing.

Would an unexplained profit be worse though ?

you'd still question it, right?

right?

To be honest I’d probably raise an invoice and make the books balance.

Re: The phoenix club thread

Is Oxford a better bet for ground share? Much easier train journey than Wycombe isn't it? Stands back... And we could call ourselves the Thames Valley Royals…. Have to be a fairly new fan to even think us playing in Oxford would work ! Of course Oxford are about to build a whole new stadium so perh...

Thank you.

So basically, bit on bold quite important?

Yeh. The accounts while quite helpful, dont explain it all. The intercompany loan provision is a second source of mystery.

Re: CONFIMRED - The final countdown

Re sale of the investments... Didn't the club sell the stadium to another Dai company in an effort to reduce losses for FFP (only to be told it didn't count)? You can only sell it once? That sale was accounted for a few years ago now if i recall correctly. I think we were allowed to do it but becau...

Re: CONFIMRED - The final countdown

That's not the story according to the guy who had a rescue deal, more or less approved by the WFL, all lined up and ready to go for the ladies. But then this is all just stuff on social media and, apparently, 97% of the time it's cr@p. Where does the the "he hates Dellor" bit come from? N...
