Given the paucity of speedy wingers at the moment I wonder what Sean Evers is up to these days. One of the few players I have ever encountered who was 'born retired'.

Dave Moreline owns a pub in Bournemouth, or so I'm told, I'm sure he could do the business as a sweeper.

Yesterday we needed a Richie Bowman

Probably only a few old timers remember him but we were definitely missing someone with a blonde beard, around 5ft 2 who ran a lot and played his little heart out. I'm actually quite serious that a Bowman/Strachan type figure is what we really need. Sadly, they are retired managers of big clubs in S...

Has anyone got the slightest idea what that meant?

I have complete faith in Coppell. He is an extremely likeable person and a fantastic manager but I'm sure he is level headed enough not to be offended by an insignificant person like me to at least add my tuppeny tam 'o shanter. Marcus's distribution was pretty bad and pointless to say the least. Th...

I'll sing "Stephen Sidwell, you used to play for Reading, and before that you played for Arsenal and then Steve Coppell played you when he was manager for Brentford. You are a kind of link/semi-attacking midfielder and you are 26 but then you moved to Chelsea when your contract came to an end. ...

I don't think anyone can complain about the red card but maybe Kitso was fair to confront Gullit on the basis that the man is a bit of a tit. The moment when he asked Garth Crooksy years ago whether Newcastle were right to sack him was one of the most priceless bits of crap journalism and cliched fo...

I was born in Lusaka, Zambia, I live in Australia and lived briefly in Reading as a child which is why I support the team. Thank God I don't live there anymore as, honestly, you have to admit, it is a horrible place. Probably on a par with Wolverhampton or High Wycombe.

Just to repeat what other people said. Scarface posted a perfectly legitimate post on the board and one which, frankly, I think sounds, sadly, perfectly plausible. If you don't like 'unfounded rumours and gossip' then don't bother reading the threads. I would hate Lita and Shorey to go but it's hard...

In the stands in the mid-1970s me, my brother and my Dad were surrounded by very odd people. In front was a bloke who always brought his two sons and swore blind that Neil Webb was the worst player who ever played for Reading and behind us was a very shy couple who always came in their biking gear a...

There is an, albeit vague, possiblity that the bloke was my Dad. He's a die hard Wolves fan and a very friendly bloke who follows Reading with interest because of me and I can imagine him doing something like that.

Supporting Reading since the early 70s my main ambition was that we would become a respectable lower division side. Also, and more importantly, that we would play attractive football which is why the McGhee side with Osborn, Darius et al was for me the highlight of recent years. Obviously, I'm delig...

For me it is between Shaka and Death. My brother tells me Tommy Wright was superb but I was living abroad when he played so can't really comment. For sentimental reasons I would like to go for Steve but my brain tells me Shaka.

Jerry Williams was, briefly, a pretty good right back. He also has to have had one of the most eccentric Reading careers position wise. From centre forward, to right back to right wing. Gary Peters was a good player playing in an ordinary team although he was awful when he first started playing for ...
