Lino missed that their target man was always offside from a goal kick (happened every time).

You can’t be offside from a goal kick.

Or at any time when the ball is played back into field of play, having been played out? i.e. Goal kick, corner & throw in.

Ah, well that's me learnt!

Re: MATCHWATCH : Blackpool (h)

Felt we were let down by some poor performances by individuals. Lino missed that their target man was always offside from a goal kick (happened every time). Savage was off from the first minute, kept misplacing passes and missing tackles (first goal). Elliott & Mbengue (prior to hurting himself ...

Re: Noel Hunt Confrimed

I reckon the greater concern is if Smith or Wing go. Campbell leaving will also be a blow, however I doubt the EFL will let us extend his stay. If Garcia goes it frankly isn't the end of the world, Bindon would be a shame - however he's cearly far too good for this level and we have plently of centr...

Re: TAKEOVER CONFIMRED AT LAST!...............(Only joking)

:| ‘Mark Bowen admitted that he placed 95 bets on football matches, which were unrelated to Reading, between 19 April 2022 and 14 January 2024.’ Plus this is his second offence for the same thing he did back in 2016 or something whilst at stoke My bad, misread / understood this bit; “A small number...

Re: TAKEOVER CONFIMRED AT LAST!...............(Only joking)

We also have Brian Carey head of recruitment, and had Jared Dublin our head scout, who left at the end of June 2023. A week or so later we signed knibbs smith and wing. I’m sure he would have been involved in identifying these players. Bowen lied about olise transfer sell on clause Bowen lied when ...

Re: TAKEOVER CONFIMRED AT LAST!...............(Only joking)

Bowen gets a lot of stick, but his fingerprints are all over recruiting this team and appointing Selles. We'd be in a much worse situation without him. Dai wanted Selles after watching Southampton play Arsenal the previous season. Wing, Knibbs & Smith were all established L1 players and we sign...

Re: MATCHWATCH : Birmingham City (a)

Squad depth massively cost us at the end; there was nobody to wretle momentum back when we faded after 70 minutes or so. That being said, we defended well from deep and didn't give away clear chances apart from the dodgy pen. Against lesser teams, we'd have been 2 or 3 up after an hour. We'll do fi...

Re: Pre-season 2024

Garcia completely out of his depth, couldn’t cope with the winger’s pace (Smyth). Elliott none existent, as was Femi until the goal. Mbengue and Kano were very strong. Wing excellent. Kelvin flattered to deceive, but can win a game for you. Camara looked bright. Wareham put in excellent effort. Rush...

Re: Mark Bowen betting charges

I wouldn’t be in a rush to label him an addict either. Based on what the FA have said it would equate to 3-4 bets a month on average, hardly the stuff of an addict. It also doesn't say when they were. I feel this may be key, especially if it coincides with his time off last year for "family re...

Re: Mark Bowen betting charges

Great, so the only explanation for Bowen being charged with betting on football whilst employed by a professional football team for a second time is that he is a gambling addict. Our man in charge of transfers and contracts, appears to be a gambling addict. :| I'm not sure it's fair to suddenly rip...

Brogue Elliott in the middle? Good!! Wasted out wide, defo does better through the middle. Will be interesting to see how he does along side wing.

I worry about the complete lack of defensive cover in the midfield. Guess we’ll see

I'm not sure why I bothered emailing my MP, but this is John Howell's (non) response; Thank you for your email regarding Reading Football Club. Victory again based on the contributions of Wing, Smith and Knibbs. Those 3 have been phenomenal signings. Knibbs particularly as we didn’t really expect that much from him. Fast becoming a real favourite The change of position for Knibbs has been absolutely crucial. If the season ended now, I'd ha...
