Re: Back from the game (or Watching Sky)

Anyone saying we were lucky - no chance. They had lots of pressure but created few clear chances and missed few obvious goalscoring opportunities. Fantastically disciplined and organised in defence and clinical in attack; you don't get 3 wins in 3 away games against 3 of the best teams in the divisi...

Re: Play-off Final Match Thread Sponsored by the exiles

Well, that was standard Reading play-offs rollercoaster wasn't it. I thought the first half was actually fairly even, nowhere near a 3-0 - apparently the first was a clear penalty so no complaints there, switched off or still shocked for the second and undone by some good if obvious movement for the...

Re: Cardiff (a) - 2nd Leg Play-off Match Thread

Every fan should be proud of the team after that performance - yes there were some hairy moments with the possible penalties and so on, but it was an immensely committed effort; special praise to Cummings for playing out of position and doing well, Leigertwood for winning the ball hundreds of times ...

And it wasn't in this case? 21 different charges and he is completely innocent? To be charged there has to be evidence. There was testimony, but it turned out to have been completely fabricated, so yes, 21 charges and he is completely innocent. At no point can anyone say you can't sing this you can...

Nasty, chip on shoulder fans, Bothroyd, Chopra etc. Not an allegation that the manager was totally cleared of, which must've ruined his and his family's happiness for a long time.

Re: Back from the game - Cardiff (H)

Pretty poor game, hope that Howard comes in for Hunt for the second leg so we at least try to play a bit of football rather than lump it for 90 minutes, that said Cardiff were hardly spectacular for a fairly expensively assembled team. Think that it's still roughly even, you'd favour the home team b...

Re: Back from the Game (or Watching TV) Leeds Away

Haven't got to many games this season due to university 'commitments' but have followed at a distance and decided to make the trip, unsurprisingly this coincided with the end of the amazing winning run. Leeds obviously played a fairly effective pressing game which drove us in the direction of hoofba...

 I'm assuming that massive fcuk up wasn't limited to Earley...anyone else get a set of adverts which randomly cut in on the game and then cut out to reveal it was 1-0?

Re: Back from the game....... I really hate geordies

Got to say that game reminded me of why being in the Premiership had its considerable downsides. It also made me glad that I don't support Newcastle, it must be an effort to put aside your morals on a weekly basis in order to support that lot - two players who should be behind bars and several who b...

West Ham winning easily in 2007 (?) and their fans chanting 'We've got Craig Bellamy, we've got Craig Bellamy' etc

Bloke next to me - 'Yeah well I've got syphilis but you don't hear me boasting about that!'

0-2, 1 goal in each half

More Watford than Reading fans left at 80 minutes

3-0 Cardiff, that kunt Chopra will score twice.

Being taunted by the Cardiff fans will be incredibly annoying until I realise that football is a small part of my life and being inbred is a large part of theirs.

2-0 in the cup (Matejovsky, Harper)

1-0 to them in the league (Campbell-Ryce)

The Reading Festival Jinx continues. (That and the team not being very good.)

Re: Newcastle v Reading, Predictions, 17:20 - 15/08/09

Behave everyone. Duff, Nolan, Taylor, Barton (spit) - all far too good for this league, they have an Argentina international on their books ffs! We have a load of promising kids, which is all most of us expected from this season and so we shouldn't be too disheartened with the result. 3-0 (Duff 8, N...

Re: Chelsea friendly arranged

Pretty disappointed with playing this lot in a friendly really, just out of principle. They represent absolutely everything wrong with football - ridiculous sums of money distorting competition and a set of players who neatly sum up where the human race goes wrong.

Re: Coppell has gone

Was always gonna happen at the end of this season, I think it was for the best that he stayed on after relegation and held the team together but a new start is needed. Some of his decisions in the last couple of seasons have been poor but he has also been let down by the players. In his six seasons ...

Re: Barca, Chelsea, United & Arsenal

The way I see it the first one (Alves/Malouda) was probably a penalty but not definite, haven't seen the second one but the general verdict seems to be no, the third one was definitely a pen but the one in the last minute? No chance. So that's 2 dodgy decisions against Chelsea; take away the red car...
