Re: JM is confident we'll stay up

Isn't there something stopping clubs from offering bonuses "outside" of the regular contracts of players? I though it was in place to stop the mega rich club owners from using money to incentivise their players during tight title races and relegation fights. As I understand it they alread...

Re: JM is confident we'll stay up

With all due respect to the man, what does he know about it? Probably quite a lot. Relegation would hit his public profile and prospects of an advantageous sale of the club quite hard but mere encouraging words won't ensure our survival. You're right that words won't help, but more unfortunately he...

Re: New manager

Whatever the reasons for not strengthening in the window its too late now. Whilst SC will always be a legend for what he has achieved he is clearly not capable of motivating the existing squad any longer. Therefore if JM wants to survive in the Prem he has to bring in someone else immediately howeve...

Re: Coppell's latest backtrack

Shareholders of companies in industry hold people to account. If anyone said at the start of each year that they would institute improvements but repeatedly year on year failed to deliver they would be out on their ear. As a long term supporter I regard myself as a stakeholder in RFC and I am fed u...

And this has happened year on year has it? Good grief!! al Rother, 25 Jan 2008 16:23 When you are doing your jobs and you are planning forward do you ever find that you change your mind during the course of a year? If yes, when that happens what causes it? A variety of factors I should imagine - ma...

Evening Post 9/10/07 Coppell looks to January sales STEVE COPPELL is ready to splash the cash when the transfer window reopens in January, writes NICK IVE. Royals were fairly quiet in the s...

Re: "A Team so Starstruck............."

Whilst I agree with most comments the fact is that the D Mail is the largest circulation newspaper and this type of publicity is harmful as it perpetuates the image of a club lacking ambition and merely enjoying a brief incursion into the top flight. That in turn makes it more difficult to sign qual...

"A Team so Starstruck............."

"that they appear more intent on swapping shirts with opposition players than securing points" That is how Reading are described in todays Daily Mail. The Mail concludes that this means that trouble can only be just around the corner. Do they have a point? I understand that Roy Keane prohi...

91? I will ask for a pint in the concourse and on being served the usual short measure complain whereupon I will be made to wait 10 mins whilst they find someone who can speak english. 92 We will emerge from all parts of the ground to find ourselves knee deep in dog shit as the sniffer dogs hit back.

We are not at a cross roads but rather at the end of a cul de sac. I will forever be grateful to JM for saving the club and realising what my late father thought was an impossible dream of top flight football. However JM has never been a big football fan. No doubt he enjoyed being a big fish in a sm...
