Franchise FC Maybe we need to nip round Sainsbury's and pick up a couple of strikers.

Can you get them off the shelf these days ?

Apparently, they are self-stackers

Sorry, what doesn;t apply ? the whole if they havent made the grade by the time they are 20? Murty - depending on when he made most of his appearances for York in 94/95 would have made at least a handful before reaching 20 Shorey - played more than a handful of games for Orient and signed for Readi...

Just trying to counter the sense of joy and disbelief of the last seven years in general and the last two in particular ( must have a Puritan streak in me) I still think I'm going to wake up on the morning after a home defeat to Plymouth. Doesn't make me want to remember the bad times TOO much, tho...

He was one of the best players on the pitch vs Bolton. And you must remember Henry is still 17 (last I checked) most players don't start breaking into first teams until they are in their early 20's. Check again in a couple of days and you'll find Henry is a whole year nearer to being past it ! Only...

Don't fool yourself. Seeing that our most promising academy winger could not break into a poor Forest side at the end of the season, I very much doubt we have the players ready to jump from Academy to Preiership (Golbourne included). It's a huge jump to make. I'd have said Bozanic was actually our ...

Yes (so was John Pratt) - I was just trying to think of the most frightening performances I had seen in a Reading shirt. (3 - 0 down to Stockport, bottom of the league after about 10 minutes). I could also have added Michael Barnes (a recurring nightmare at centre back) but I really didnt want to h...

Was Denis Wagstaff the less talented brother of Tony (and therefore didnt play for Reading) or is my memory going after all? btw I always thought that Barry was a half decent midfielder - although I wouldn't like to hazard a guess as to whether he was defensive, attacking, holding etc. By the way, ...

Ray Hiron I thought that he was a centre forward who was just too old and knackered to get far enough up the pitch to get to the proper position ( although he did score a few important goals, and a had a fair stab at emergency centre back if I remember correctly) Actually, I think he started up fro...
