I am all for Sonks playing for france.

After all he is then playing for a world class team this means that he is going to get better experience and hopefully playing with some of the best footballers in the world he is going to learn more.

Also it pi55es SpaceCruiser off

OS says he's French.

soccerbase.com says he's Senegalese.

At least he's not still ginger. He's played better and better since he went back to his roots.

Of course playing for France means he potentially plays in qualifiers & tournaments the same time that the Prem league fixtures account for and not go missing for 3-4 weeks for the African Cup of Nations if he chose Senegal.

If he and Murty played for Scotland they'd be fine until they played Portugal......

I could have guessed that he may have UTD preferences being that his Location states Penzance

UTD preferences? He certainly doesn't. He was born and bred in Reading and attended Elm Park regularly. Attends now when possible.

I'm sure he used to be listed as Senegalese on the website.

I'm all for him playing for France instead of Senegal, the African Nations as previously mentioned the reason why. A complete pain in the arse that tournament is, doubt we'd have made 106 points if he had decided to go.

Surely that's only cos they're worse so scout for players playing at a lower level than France?!

Sonko "I can still play for France but I'm not thinking about it. Only Senegal have shown interest - I respect that."

What do they know? It's only the club's official site.

The club picked him up from York, didn't ask.......

Big surprise when the wee Scotties called up and asked if he was available - "He'll have had his tea...but can'e play the noo? We're a bit short at the back....."

You may be big, Mike, but I've seen Maurice Evans, Douggie Webb and Jimmie Wheeler.

higher Sonks had better start brushing up on his Rimbaud .
If he gets le call up we will require Shades (hobnob artiste extrordinaire) to conjuer a petite portrait of superbman with a beret and the obligatory string of onions a danglin whilst of course dispossessing Rooney.
Maybe Mr Tourette from Modern Toss can help with a banner?

This gets more and more confusing.

OS has Sonko listed as French, but is now saying he can't join the Senegal squad because he is injured.
