i've paid £42 for my return flights from soton airport, leaving tuesday midday and returning thursday afternoon.

I don't have a ticket and i will need to get two so hoping i can get them!

How many people do you think will plan to travel to Newcastle on a weekday night just before christmas?? hopefully not too many!

Probably more than you would think... however, our allocation should be 3000 (according to the Newcastle os) so I doubt we will 'sell-out'... you should be ok!

If you get in quick you can get the train from London for £10 each way - it's only 4hrs in total from Reading that way, and you get deposited walking distance from the ground.

Anyone recommend some cheap hotels/B&Bs in the area? Going to stay up there for a couple of days and would like somewhere close to the city centre.

Don't forget to take your binoculars!

The away support gets a section of the very top tier. You are about a quarter of a mile away from the "far end".

How slow do you drive? I reckon 3 to 3.5 hours to Leeds depending on how many times I stop.

Looking further up this thread the Holiday Inn Express looks popular (I'm there), but there are a number of similar hotels (and prices) around the station area which is close to St James Park... hurry though they are all probably getting popular for night of Dec 6th now!

As RG30 has pointed out look at this thread for accommodation. I have recommended a few places in Jesmond.

Around the start to mid of November I am going to put together a piece on where to eat and drink in the toon pre match. Plus travel around the city and any other things worth doing if you want a bit of Geordie culture?

We've booked up at Newcastle Central Travelodge which is half a mile from the train station.
