Top Flight For the guy to state that Hunt has done more in one game of football than Convey in the previous 7 is unfair. Don't people remember Convey's excellent delivery from a free kick that lead to Ingimarsson heading home the winner against Man City and almost getting knocked out in the process (Its not just Chelsea players that get knocked out Morley, Kitson, Ingimarsson?).

we all remember, it was brilliant. hunt may belong in the spot this time though. when convey is 100%, he should have it back

Great to have such competition.Huntys enthusiastic exhuberance and commitment has now given Sir Steve a headache.

The question is whether Hunty has now made the same breakthrough that Convey made last season or if he will instead 'hold back' following the Cech incident last week. I think it's important that we give him a chance and find out on Sunday.

Agreed. I'm keen for the analysis to be about our great performances again and so I'm sure Hunty will be desperate to get a chance as quickly as possible to move the subject on.

Asked a few people up here(Cumbria)to name a Reading player. The common response was "that bloke Hunt" or somesuch. We have no household names due to our lack of mercenary superstars but thanks to a certain Moroniho our wee Irish diamond has national infamy.

Great song for Hunty though shouldn't it be more positive and say what he is rather than is not? He's got the haircut for it

Convey should start, hunt seems to be too much of a ball hogger and doesn't see the killer pass as convey can. I like hunt and am happy for him to be back-up, but convey is 1st choice for me!

Ole Ole Ole Ole Bobby Convey!

As long as Hunt wants to start and everyone is happy that he will not be too affected by the events of last week...................no one deserves to keep their place more.

Whilst I'm a big fan of Convey, he has not been at his best this season and with Hunt's cameos improving all the time, I think his chance was overdue. It came as no surprise to me that he didn't disappoint.

It is nonsense to say that Convey is the better player when he is clearly out of form at the moment.

Furthermore, if we're going to stick with 2 wingers (and I think we should) Hunts superior defensive skills might be what we're looking for.......................but, if Hunt starting brings Bobby back to his best, that's good news for all of us.

We missed Convey in the cup game against Arsenal last season. It will be good to see how he plays against them but surely he can't be match fit and if he does start I can't see Coppell paying him the whole 90 minutes.

Top Flight I disagree, if Convey is 100% match fit and raring to go then I would select Convey.

Convey is a better player. Although Hunt was very busy against Chelsea he always lacks quality in the final third and doesn't have the final ball, the quality cross, the defence splitting pass.

Convey may be less busy than Hunty in the defensive 2/3rds of the pitch but Convey can put dangerous balls into dangerous areas where things tend to happen.

For the guy to state that Hunt has done more in one game of football than Convey in the previous 7 is unfair. Don't people remember Convey's excellent delivery from a free kick that lead to Ingimarsson heading home the winner against Man City and almost getting knocked out in the process (Its not just Chelsea players that get knocked out Morley, Kitson, Ingimarsson?).

Convey has the quality from set pieces, wide areas, can make dangerous passes. Hunt always runs out of ideas once he has advanced to the business end of the football pitch.

He works hard, he is busy, I respect him for that just like I respected Hughes for possessing the same qualities. But I would rather select Convey but only if Convey is 100% match fit and raring to go. Otherwise stick with Hunt. But Convey IS a better player.

In most cases Convey should play rather than Hunt. However against The Arse Hunt is a better bet because as I mentioned in another post The Arse do n´t like it up ´em,Hunt is like a terrier troubling all the time will give them no time to settle .Bobby will give them space which is food and drink to them.
