We were shit today

by melksham_royal » 28 Oct 2006 18:30

Im not talking about the team, im talking about the fans. the majority of us were shit today. absolutely no emotion from the first whistle. where were all the hardcore fans that were with me against liverpool where 1500 of us drowned out the kop? you guys were awful. there were too many people there today who thought they'd have a little family day out as it's only portsmouth down the road. fair enough, some of us sung in small little groups but most of you didn't even try. the fact that the team played like crap is no excuse, our job is to lift the team during those times. its all well and good singing when we're winning but today was one of those days where the team needs you the most. this whole season the fans have been brilliant but the performance from us today was just shocking. shameful.

end of rant

Most fans have this problem at pompey uless they are all LADS. NO roof on the away end means hard to generate atmosphere. This was the case last time we lsot 3-0 there.

Reading have quite a lot of fans on banning orders. When they return you'll see a better atsmosphere. Blame the club for trying to stamp out anything that goes against their petty rules at the madejski. I agree with what your saying though, support is woeful at times, and we have NOT ONE ORIGINAL SONG.

loads got chucked out today by the police, i dunno what was going on there, but they were one of the only groups that were singing and standing up! everyone else just couldnt be arsed. i agree with the guy saying something about needing an original song, but we need one thats gonna stick and not just gonna be made up for one game and then forgotten

I knew it'd be like that which is why I didn't go.

It seems that West Ham was just a one off then. Reading fans have rapidly regressed back to their plastic stereotype.

It wasn't aimed at you. Not really my place to plaster said incidents and history on a public messageboard, therefore I won't. All im gonna say is, our atmosphere and liveliness will improve, gradually but not thanks to the club.
