Maybe readingbedding would care to consider a retraction of earlier comments?

I certainly apologise unreservedly.

There'll be a written apology in the next issue of the Royal Bison Chronicle

No.

If that was offered at the the time, I wouldn't have said it.
It wasn't.
Reading it again, it sounded smug.

Well thanks to "Star" and his jpegs I can now through the printing equipment I have here reproduce a near as damn it copy for my Dad.

Once again thanks to eveyone who has emailed me other information about other games involving my grandad.

Incidentally on a humourous note a tip for any budding local referees.....

Never make a comment to a Club secretary about a players unpronouncable surname before a game especially if it ends in SKI!!! and the hope that you wont have to caution him during the game.

Only one player in the Salisbury League with such a surname and I found him yesterday - the embarrassment of having to ask a player to spell his surname in its entirity... probably means SMITH in English!! - in any case he now owes the Wilts FA £8 and his teammates an apology - one careless tackle = yellow card, opponents score a goal and no points!
