Platypuss There was an early leak yesterday regarding Hunt's contract - I'm certanly not expecting anything other than confirmation.

Making a bit of a big deal out of it, if it is aren't they?

The club aren't, BBC Radio Berkshire are the ones making a big thing about it.

Well yes and no, the club haven't called press conferences for any other contract signing but they have today.

For the other's it just been announced via the OS and to the press. But it'll be Hunt.

Like it or not, none of them had the national press profile of Steven Hunt.

Don't think it is Hunt, as that news was covered yesterday:

Stephen Hunt has penned a new deal with Reading that will see him contracted to the club for a further two and a half years.

The midfielder joins a list of players who have secured their future at the club including goalkeeper, Marcus Hahnemann, defence duo, Ibrahima Sonko and Ivar Ingimarsson, and captain and full back, Graeme Murty.

Hunt, who scored his first Premiership goal last Monday, had signed a one year deal last summer and was pensive about his long term future. He can now put his mind to rest with a deal that ends in 2010

Hunt has played regularly on the left wing since Bobby Convey got injured at the end of October against Pompey. However with Convey now fit again, Hunt could find his first team place in jeopardy.

The Irish player also hit the headlines following his controversial clash with Chelsea goalkeeper Petr Cech.
