Rev Algenon Stickleback H I remember once turning down Norfolk Road and I couldn't put my finger on what was wrong for a second, then I realised that the main stand had completely gone and I was just staring at the pitch and three sides of terracing.

agreed, that was very odd indeed

LoyalRoyal13 Were there any old "season review" videos or anything ever released from the Elm Park days?

Yes, "Year of the Royals" (1993-4) and "Record-Breaking Royals" (1994-5).

I have both.

I am fairly sure that a close relative of mine has DVDised the pair, and the Play Off Final.

Only thing missing is the semi.

Maybe he wasn't that excited.

Isn't that "Royals On The Brink"? I'm sure there was highlights of the semis on that.

I miss Elm Park dearly. Though I think I've probably seen more games at the Mad now than I did at EP....

EP regular from 1990 to 1998 (ST holder from 1992).
Mad Stad ST holder from 1998-Present.

Elm Park is still absolutely, definitely, unutterably my home, though. I'm sure those of you who saw decades of football at the place feel even more strongly.

What I'd give to watch one more game from the Southbank.............

Where do you make the centre spot?

Red car above the Elm Park writing I'd hazard a guess at. Or maybe abit further right as the Tilehurst End was bigger than the Town End.

Overlaying the map of Elm Park helps.

Looks like its a bit to the left of the red car. Perhaps somebody should go and paint the Centre Circle on while none of the residents are looking...

I made this in February and its very similar to your overlaying of the maps. Centre spot was off but not by much.

Looks like it's from the late 80's or early 90's.

I will try and locate some of my Elm Park pictures later on.

Do you think the residents of the house that now sits on my "spot" of the Southbank would mind if I came round and stood in their living room for a couple of hours one Saturday afternoon?

I wonder how well the gardens grow that are now under the bogs at the back of the South Bank.

Thats from Stuart Clarke's Football Photography and the World
Stuart Clarke HOME FIRES BURNING, READING, ENGLAND, 1990 (Cat #: 206)
The end of Elm Park is drawing near. A plan has been hatched to move away.Surely. Everyone else is doing it.

The houses are slap-bang up against the ground (the mens toilets are the shed on the left). One neighbour seems more than happy to have a football club on the doorstep.
