Lets play for a draw, Utd fixture list will loaded up to the max, then go for a draw in the replay but hope the lights fail or there if fog or snow or flooding so we are in the cup for as long as possible and then finally when they cant take anymore beat them on penalties after a long drawn out pitch battle during what would be the 3rd game that Fergie moans about for the rest of the season

I'm really looking forward to my first visit to Old Trafford and the result is almost secondary for me.

I expect us to lose, but I'm going to enjoy it just the same.

Anything other than defeat will be fantastic, obviously.

Ashfordroyal We have a reasonable chance either way, the posts on other threads suggest our reserves will start.
Why not a first choice team? if we are deamed to be "safe" in the league.
Why not have a real go at the cup?, or is a possible place in Europe more lucrative or likely than the FA cup?

I reckon we have more chance to get a European place through the league than the cup. We will probably have to face Chelsea or Arsenal eventually in the cup along with of course Man Utd on Saturday and we havent beaten any of them in 5 attempts. Whereas in the league we only have Arsenal to play once more, coupled with the fact bar that Arsenal game our run in is fairly good, I can see the league being a better oportunity.

Erm...is a European place the only point in winning the Cup? I think not. Will we ever have a better chance (away game at Old trafford notwithstanding, of course)

Completely wrong attitude!.............. The whole idea of going is to support the boys, and should naturally feel gutted if we lose! Having a good day out is ok but getting a result is priority. Look forward to seeing the Royals mate, we don't need a load of sight see'ers amongst the ranks!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The way we are playing and the way we played with 10 men at OT, I can see a shock result going 2-1 in our favour.

Absolutely.
We're on form at the moment, United will be resting players and will have one eye on thier Champions league game on Tuesday.

We have to believe we can go there and win.
It would be a fantastic achievement to win at Old Trafford, and I think Coppell should recognise this as well and maybe
play some of our on-form players.
We should give it our all, we may never get a better chance to win there...

I've had a dream. We'll come from 3-1 down to be 4-3 up. Utd's keeper will drop a clanger for our third, and the same player will get the 4th, he'll be on as a sub.

Or I could just have a fevered wishful imagination after putting money on us to score first and win.

I must admit to being excited at the prospect of losing narrowly to Utd on Saturday

If that were the case no one would play a game of football and no one would watch any that were played.

Much weaker teams than anything we will put out have beaten the top premiership sides in the cup before.
