Of course they are directly linked, I never questioned that, they are not the same thing though.
There seems to be this impression that any player, in any position on the pitch must produce a 110% work rate and ethic. In specialist positions like on the wing and up front I wouldn't consider this to be a key requirement, they are judged on their end product and not their ability to cover every blade of grass. If Seol had a problem with his mentality towards the game then he would not even get a sniff of a start, Coppell would never have a passenger on the pitch. As it stands his end product has been less effective than in the first half of the season but there could be many reasons for this, Glenn Little's huge contribution being one of them.
I put it to you that a person's desire to do anything for the club that he plays for, would be adversely affected by Joe Public booing him during a game. Some players may rise to this challenge, if you can call it that, though I can't recall a single player that has made a statement to this effect about being boo'ed by his own supporters. Boo'ed by the opposition, most definitely. Others, and I believe this is where Seol lies, will see any sort of non constructive criticism as detrimental to their desire to play for that club.
If we aren't careful then this is where Seol could be heading, that would be a great shame for one of the most talented players I have seen wear a Reading shirt.
