Great battlign performance by the mighty Royals. Hold our heads up high once again.

Has to be said though well done to Arsenal - still as far as I'm concerned the best footballing side in the country. We were beaten fairly and squarely by sheer quality. Why are they not top?

Well done Reading and well done The Arse.

One of the blokes I can't be bothered to remember the name of on Football Focus - "Reading will have to react now, they're on a bad run of form." Ehhhh, what? Until we lost 2 league games and a cup game, two of which were against the 'big four', we were the best form this year. Ignorant.

I wouldn't agree with "great battling performance". I think the boys will be disappointed they never really got to grips with the game until it was more or less too late. Off games for Shorey, Hunt, Harper, Little and Kitson, I thought. I'd never suggest they didn't put in the effort but it wasn't one of our better performances, especially compared with all the game sagainst Man U and Chelsea.

Just back from the game and number 13 played well all game, shame we did not until 2nd half, thought all played well although little disappointed with Sidwell (perhaps his minds on other things) Bikey was enormous and what a stadium.

Home fans were very poor

On reconsideration, you have a point.

We weren't great. I think I'm mainly talking about our spirit. Although we had too many players with "off games" (but Arsenal are a class side who would make us look ordinary anyway) I am happy with our never-say-die attitude - although we weren't that great we never really looked like not scoring and we seemed to keep consistently up for it right to the death, albeit not that successfully thanks to too many below-par performances.

It's something we've become used to with Coppell. We can be losing but we just don't lose the spirit.

That's what I'm happy about. But yes, not great performances all round perhaps.

I agree, bikey had a great game apart from the penalty, and the arsenal fans were poor, i talked to my uncle who is arsenal fan and he said that atmoshpere doesnt matter, just the football, rubbish

Interesting:

Steve Coppell If Bikey had perhaps been more familiar with English football then he would realise that Clichy is a flying machine. I think Bikey came over thinking he had the situation under control - then he kicked down a gear and went again and Bikey found himself in a bad position.

Didn't Pards used to produce little dossiers on the opposition players to highlight their individual strengths and weaknesses?

Good point. I thought all clubs did that these days.
