PREMIERSHIP_ROYAL sheffield are louder than us?

Probably when they're signing the chip sandwich song.

this is factually wrong. Unless pompey were, on average, over 1000 times louder than charlton...?

(i think)

blade 1 credit should go to the teams like the blades pompy and you guys. generating that sort of noise with half the size crowds of man u the bar codes etc.

thought you lot were the best fans to come to the lane this year, just about the only side not to wait to be entertained but give full backing for the full game.

the blades travalling support has been terrific as well, spoke to an everton mate who couldn't believe the noise we made in the second half against them said it was the loudest he could remember. and i have to say i was loving the 20 minuet rendition of sheff united.

We didn't have to wait long to be entertained at the lane though... IIRC we were dead quiet for the first 10 seconds or so... :)

I think that, perhaps, in this country, we should just give up with the singing all together. After all we'll never be as loud and impressive as supporters from other countries. Unless of course, we bring back drunkedness and terracing in to our stadiums; get rid of old people, or at least put them somewhere out of the way; and put jobs-worth-stewards in their place i.e. throw them out of the back of the East Stand. Women, tsk, how did they sneak in! Explosives, rockets... yes please!

Urawa Reds are the loudest i've ever seen.

This video is brilliant. The Urawa supporters stand in motionless silence and let the home team sing their song, before the drummers mount the wall as though they're old drummer boys of the vanguard, leading the men over the top, and then, well, then the signal is given and it all kicks off - 20 minutes of non-stop jumping up and down. Note how the fricken huge flags appear out of no-where. Please watch this video and imitate! Be patient as they don't get going for a couple of minutes but when they do, oh, it's skin tingling.

This one is them at home, their big home, as they have a little one too. Anyway 'tis good.

Sebastian Pompey twice as loud as United LOL!!!

(oh, and check the way the decibel system works before questioning how 97 is twice 94)

I think you'll find it doubles every 10 decibels actually :)
not quite twice as loud . 97 is some serious racket though isn't it !!!!!

Every 10 decibels it is an increase by a factor of ten. Twice as loud is an increase of 3 (or 6 depending on your definition of twice as loud).

This "survey" implies pompey were 1000 times louder than charlton, which is shit, however poor charlton are. Its made up to give their preconcieved ideas about who is loudest credibility, and discussing it is a waste of time.

blue_army1871 In todays Sun newspaper there is a table of the Premierships loudest fans. The results were recorded from the first 5 premiership games for each team this season.

Team Decibels

Pompey 97
Newcastle 96
Liverpool 96
Man United 94
Sheff United 91
Bolton 90

Calm down my dears! its 'the sun'. Isn't that the same news paper that tipped us to go down after our 'refusal to strengthen the squad' in the close season? Isn't that the same tabloid that persecuted Diana and then blamed everbody else when she died? Isn't that the same rag that blamed the fans for the Hillsborough disaster? I wouldn't read too much into that comic for Chelsea lovers!

Why do they have a huge flag of Che??

Doesn't look as impressive as the Maccabi Haifa Ultras video that someone posted on here while back that was set to Lux Aeterna

Our support would never be like that in a million years.

Too many people sitting on their hands and complaining that a flag was getting in their way of the big screen..

I've been to foreign grounds and the passion shown in mediterranean and asian matches is phenomenal. As typically reserved anglo-saxons we'll never match the passion of most foreign clubs.

However although those are awesome clips it seems very contrived. "You sing yours, then it's our turn" etc...

I MUCH prefer the spontaneity and banter we have in our grounds to pre-prescribed set songs and noise, albeit louder.

then do something about it! whats the point moaning about how our fans arnt good enough in your oppinion, do you bring a giant flag to the games or chant the whole game through? if more than one person started something like that then it would soon catch on.

Until I was told not to put up the flags because they get in the way of the advertising hoardings...
