....a bid of £1m or even £750,000 could get him

Deal!!!! If someone offered £250,000, I'd bite their hand off.

Reading signed him for £350,000 initial payment at the start of the season, he only played I think about 5 games, so a bid of £1m or even £750,000 could get him, early days I know but looked as though he has potential.

I know, Reading fans normally slag off the new singings before they even get a chance. Makes a nice change.

I posted that on the westbrom.com website, pity you didn't post the rest of the thread as if you'd bothered to you would have known that it was in reply to someone asking how much he would be available for, the link is below

Row Z Royal Is this a sweetener for them not going up and us part exchanging Curtis Davis in the summer?

Sorry mate but do you really think Curtis Davies will be going to Reading

Even with Sodje in exchange you would still need to find about £5m at least, sorry no offence but you're not a big enough club and you're chairman won't spend the money needed.

Thats not a pee take either, you don't need to spend big as you have a system to sign good players cheaply. Pity we don't.

Personally I wouldn't want Davies. Not in a million years. It's a shame that he seems to be a promising youth player but all his career will probably be will involve a big money move to a top 4 (or 5) club and spend the rest of his career on the bench.

I think thats what will happen if we don't go up this season (way things are going we won't either), the exception possibly is Newcastle as with Nigel Pearson as asst manager they are keeping watch on him quite often, but Spurs,Arsenal etc would be a poor move for him careerwise.

Completely agree. I mean, look at Sean Wright-Phillips. I hope Davies goes to a mid table Prem Club (like Reading  ) so he can further his career. It would be a shame to see another talent wasted. That gets my goat more than McLaren and his dodgy England selections.
