Katie Marsden I hope this isn't just a token selection and he actually gets a run out against Brazil.

Two token selections in one squad ? I hope not....

Many, many congratulations to Nicky. Wonderful recognition of his hard work, skill and dedication over many years with RFC. He's always looked a class act and it's a fine tribute to the set-up within the club that they've ended up in the shop window where people other than we RTGs couldn't help seeing that too. When so much is depressing about top-flight football (e.g. Team England, Cashley Cole, the cup final display by our "two best teams", hype beyond belief etc.) RFC have given me something yet again to smile about like a silly fool.

Fantastic signing by Pards by the way. Also correct in calling that Henderson would play in the premiership IIRC. (...if not necessarily "a premiership player"). For all that Coppell will be rightly revered for many years to come, the man who put in the groundwork deserves some plaudits too.

Fan-bloody-tastic - watched the B game with a broad smile - not quite believing that a current Reading player (and one plucked from Leyton Orient RESERVES) was actually wearing an England shirt. Really hope that he gets on the pitch in one of the next two games,
One of these days I'll wake up from this dream - it will be August 2005 and we'll have just lost at home to Plymouth!

Well done Nicky! Would be amazing for him to get his first cap in England's first game at the new wembley, and against Brazil of all teams!!!

Let's hope Cashly picks up a knock then. Unless of course McClown makes a few changes throughout the game and gives Shozza/Cashly a run out.

A.Cole isn't in the squad, that's why Shorey has been called up.

I am concerned that Shorey will now be rubbing shoulders with players who earn upwards of 50k per week..... I suspect that with success will come greed and it may be difficult to hold onto him if we wish to keep to our wage structure.

But great news for him.....

McClown picks a dead ball specialist for the game........... and picks Beckham too.

I am going on Friday, couldn't wait as it was, really can't wait now!

I haven't brought a new England shirt, am severely tempted to buy one with Shorey on it before Friday!!!

I've lost my England Flag with the Reading badge on it, and i'm right near the corner flag so I need to get one of them in time too!

Does this mean Reading fans can stop singing "Shorey for England" and find him a good chant?

Oh and congratulations Nick but Wayne Bridge will start against Brazil & Estonia and the best you can hope for is a 30 minute run out against Brazil.
