I'll have to agree with commentary regarding Bryn's ability to score from outside the 18 yard box. Reading really lacked that last season (with exception from Seoul-man's scores and Lita's two magnificent strikes against city).

I really hope Reading can increase their shots-on from out. It would help to bring-out the defense and open-up space.

Then again, we scored a lot, a hell of a lot, from crosses.

More than pretty much any other team in the league, iirc.

gunnarsson ( providing he gets adequate amount of games) will get more goals than harper this season

Always thought we'd go for Olofinjana. Class against us whenever we play Wolves...

That's the first time a team has scored twice against us this pre-season.

4 mins to go - lets hope that's the lot.

Game over 3-2 - Fed saved from a one on one at the end.

Main thing is we haven't lost since our opening pre-seasom match.

Still not sure what team Steve will put out against Man U.

One that has the greatest likelihood of upsetting Manchester United's tendency to always win

Ok, if you could let Sir Steve know, that would be great!

Despite it being very much a first-team lineup, Reading seemed to take some time to get going - unlike Wolves, who were all over us for the first 20 minutes.

Hunt's equaliser produced a stunned silence in the ground - even from the Reading fans, who had spotted the blatant push in the back of the defender from 70 yards away (unlike the ref and assistant, apparently).

Seol was roundly booed by the Wolves fans whenever he got the ball, so the Reading fans cheered him for a change. He still tends to pull out of tackles, which is frustrating to watch.

Convey and Shorey aren't operating on the same wavelength yet. On several occasions passes were overhit (or the intended recipient wasn't fast enough to get there in time).

The best period of play for Reading was the first 15 minutes of the second half, but it didn't produce any more goals. After that, the usual multiple substitutions made the game more disjointed.

Cox came on for about 20 minutes, and acquitted himself well, with a couple of shots on goal.

Cisse also put in an appearance. Looked quite comfortable in midfield.

Hahnemann played the first half, and had to make some good saves. Replaced by Federici at half-time. It struck me that Fed has been eating fewer pies - he looks leaner and faster. He too had a good match, with some equally good saves made.

Everybody else who played performed pretty much as you would expect.

The sun shone (in our eyes) for most of the afternoon.

Here's to next weekend ...

It reminded me just how good the Mad Stad is, and how fortunate we are that it is so well-run.

This comment is brought to you by Chaucer.
