Team you would most like to beat this season?

by Compo's Hat » 09 Aug 2007 04:58

Last year i wanted to win at Upton Park more than anything as a certain Alan Pardrew was managing there and to win on his patch was awesome.

This year...

PORTSMOUTH

It's about bloody time we beat those bell ringing, south coast oxf*rd!

I have suffered nothing but dull games at home and total dump at Fratton Park. So Mr Coppell if by the slightest off chance you're reading this, please wipe the smug look off 'arry's face this season and put it onto my face.

Twice would be brilliant!

I would love us to beat Liverpool, loads of my mates support them, so would be nice to give them some stick!

Sunderland.

There are at least 100 reasons.

Arsenal - to show that we did learn something from the footballing lesson(s) they gave us last season.

West Ham.

They represent everything that is wrong with football - the anti-Reading if you like.

After last season, Chelsea at home please.

Walking away from the ground with obnoxious Chelsea fans openly taking the piss still sticks in my throat (not to mention the oxf*rd frolicking around on the sacred turf at the final whistle - would never have happened in front of the Southbank).

I would like to us to wipe that smug smile off the faces of those horrid Derby County fans!

1) Spurs - I just want to prove that spending loads of money DOESN'T pay off.
2) Chelsea - Just hate them.
3) Newcastle - Everybody thinks that they are better than they really are.

Liverpool and Everton as I work in Liverpool and am surrounded by red and blue. They all keep telling me how much we're struggle as we've signed no-one that they've ever heard of and they think last season was a bit of a fluke!

There are a fair few posters on this very site who will tell you much the same thing!

1. Bolton - wife supports them
2. West Shite - same reason as Avon Royal
3. Liverpool - lots of my glory hunting friends (born in the 70/80) support them
4. Chelsea

1. Chelsea
1. West Ham

Both in equal measure for me.

Agree with Compo's Hat about Portsmouth as well, 1 solitary victory at their place in 1997 in about 15/16 attempts most of which have been bl**dy awful games ending in 1-0 defeats or 0-0 draws. For the record don't even think we've managed a goal at home against them since 1987!

I'll be happy to beat enough teams to stay up. Don't care who they are.
