13 and counting

by Franchise FC » 20 Aug 2007 16:03

Every year I get paranoid about the chances of someone taking our 13 wins record at the start of the season.

Only 7 left to drop points :

Man City
Stoke
Watford
Leyton Orient
Huddersfield
Darlington
Shrewsbury

I'm not going to tempt fate by feeling comfortable about it yet.

However :

Arsenal v MAN CITY
Southampton v STOKE
Leicester v WATFORD
Crewe v LEYTON ORIENT
HUDDERSFIELD v Carlisle
DARLINGTON v Notts County
MK Dons v SHREWSBURY

I can't believe that I'll actually be wanting Arsenal and the bloody Franchisees to get something.

Have you also got a clock running on the clean sheet record ?

How about projections for 107 points in the Football League ?

I normally only start worrying when they get to 8 or 9.

Not that it keeps me awake at nights.

Not me. There's always the next game for Manchester City to lose. ;)

It gives me a reason, as if I need one, to go through the list of wins again and relive some of the moments.

Gary Westwood's penalty save at Plymouth
Trevor's late, late winner at Brentford for number 7
11,000 (cough, cough) for the Bolton game
The whole day at Newport
Trevor's winner at Lincoln

We did have some good times before the last few years - we're just getting a lot of them together at the moment.

Well it's in our hands to stop them 'breaking' it as we're their 14th game of the season (I think... they are certainly our 14th). This is just a league record right and doesn't count cups?

It makes me spit when they played that advert and the twatty Chelsea fans said they hold the record for longest clean sheet. Know nothing bastards  Not to mention the idiot hammers who think they've won the world cup

it is indeed a league record. We lost to AFC Bournemouth during that run in the League Cup 3-1.

Although they've currently got -9 points, Dirty Leeds are also still on for the 13 wins record.

You'd have to laugh if they did equal our record, as they'd still only have 24 points !

No chance whatsoever of our records going this season - feel free to quote me on that at a later date!

That day out at Newport County was fantastic.

The only ground that the terracing behind the goal slanted the opposite way!! So bizarre.

Game against Wolves midweek was a classic - 2-2 if i can recall - we were all packed into Elm Park that night. Had every chance to go on and stretch that record.

That Wolves game still grates me to this day, how did we not win that! Would have been great to have gone on and got the 15 straight wins that would stand forever.
