I thought it indicated to the Ref who the captain is, if there were any problems. He didn't get picked up on it so must be ok. Just traditional to wear the ARMband around your ARM!

It's a good idea as his shinpads aren't much protection .

I thought that Harper had a poor game last night but I noticed his reaction at the end. Ran over to the away support, fists pumping, leading the rest of the team over to us. It was good to see such a passionate response to a hard-fought win.

Compare Harper's attitude with that of John Halls who when substituted to generous applause from the travelling Royals couldn't even be bothered to acknowledge us. Lita, when taken off at the end, acknowledged the support as he always does.

But Reading admirably withheld the Swansea siege, brilliantly led by skipper James Harper, whose leadership and stamina
set a stirring example.

You know normally if you'd just seen a centre mid run all game for 120 mins, having already played in pretty busy start to the season, I'd be worried he'd be fully fit for his next game. But with Harps, he could play in the reserves tonight and still be fresh as a daisy for West Ham.

Round his ankle, he is the loveable plank ain't he?!

does it matter where he wears it?

knowing our luck the FA will fine him and ban him coz he broke rule 316 c, paragraph iii, subsection 14
"one must treat the captains armband with respect at all times and wear it within a distance of 12 cm up or down from the upper athorticle muscle"

He doesn't wear shin pads, so it's for protection.

I swear this is true. Bikey said if he ever gets it he'll wear it round his head.
