i wasnt attacking you.

but every reading game is important to me

i quite like watching the reserve games etc
id go to watch training if i was allowed

and evening cup games are always wicked at the mad stad.
atmosphere will be good, crowd will be full, TV cameras there.
and will make a welcome change from our premiere league woes

sounds great to me

cant wait

I'm sure the tens of thousands of fans who don't have a season ticket and have been on holiday for the last three weeks will fill the stadium to the rafters.

I reckon £35 a ticket for a reserve fixture. Will still go myself but don't blame people for not going.

cmonurz As Stranded implied, ticket price will determine the size of the crowd. At £30+, I think I'll watch it on telly.

Will have to be £20 max for me to bother with this...so I probably won't be going!

Sky games always kick off at 7.45 where they can help it.

I would quite like to go to support the team.

However, my budget for RFC the business entity is quite stretched already for this season (as I suspect is the case with many others) so I may decide to preserve what is left and watch the game on Sky.[/quote]

Hoop Blah

Scarface As soon as Coppell takes the Cups seriously then I'll start attending.

Would fielding the same team he did against Swansea count as 'taking it seriously' ?

Or is the clamour for him to give Henry and Pearce a game going to get louder ?

Just because some people call for the promising youngsters to get a game to aid their development does not mean others can't wish for Coppell to field our strongest XI and take the games more seriously.

IF Coppell is going to play second string sides for these games I think it's totally sensible to use the games for blooding the youngsters to see how they can handle the step up. IF Coppell decides to give us the best chance of progressing by playing his first team then thats also a good thing but a totally different arguement to whether playing Sodje over Pearce is good for the development of the squad.

You don't have to jump to the clubs defence by trying to belittle every comment that might call into question the clubs decisions.

Where did I jump to anyone's defence ?

Where did I belittle anyone ?

What would it mean to take the cups seriously ? I thought the Swansea side was a pretty reasonable selection, plenty of proper firstteamers, a couple of youngsters getting needed experience and a couple of fringe players you could argue over.

Given the international call ups it looked like Coppell had rested the right players and given the likes of Lita and Kitson a good run out.

HNA is a pale shadow of what it once was, too many people don;t like to actually debate but just want to pontificate, too many people will hand out the insults and then squeal if comments are made back (a general comment - not aimed at you Hoops !).

If it's £35, then for the first time in 20+ years, I won't go to a competitive home match that I could have gone to.

As you all know the Reading team that plays Liverpool's reserves will be made up of those fringe squad members that are fit and any main squad members needing a game.

That has always been SCs policy whomsoever the oppostion is.

I have to agree - anything over £20 will be beyond the pale for this one.

I think either club would be hard pressed to justify even £20. I can understand a club like Darlington insisting on highish prices for what might be their big pay day of the season but in economic terms this game means nothing to us or Liverpool. Both clubs could afford to make this a real 'special offer' and ensure a full ground.

The TV payments would cover expenses in any case....

Come on Spacey - here's your chance to set up a poll on what people think would be an acceptable price & which would persuade them to buy a ticket.

Who knows, the club might even take a bit of notice?!

Think I'll sell my ticket to someone else for that, no point paying inflated rail prices to come back from Bournemouth for a game I can watch across the road at the pub.

Maybe we can get ahead of the game and someone can start a thread now stating how embarrassed they are by Reading 'supporters', how shyte our support is and how we don't deserve to be treated to this level of football!

Get the pricing right on this one.

A full stadium at £20 a head vs 16, 000-odd at £30+ a head

OK, the revenue just about gives it to £30 a head, but surely there's other sources of income?

It's now on the OS, although where I heard it is another matter !

Seemed an obvious TV game as soon as the draw was made.
