I think cup games has to be something like 10-15% of the capacity for away fans

riverroyal I suppose Reading will be giving Liverpool 4,000 tickets (whole of south stand) as its a cup game

I would imagine they will give them 2400 as usual but not put the rest of the South Stand on general sale.

Leaves options open and then if Liverpool want the rest they can have them, but if they don't then they can be sold to locals.

Sounds sensible. i'm worrying that if the prices are over the top, then we'll see big empty patches in the stadium and then Sky will say howe rubbish fans are. Sod it, sky are idiots anyway. don't give a toss what they say anyway.

Dirk Gently I have to agree - anything over £20 will be beyond the pale for this one.

Do you know if STAR will be making representations re. pricing for this fixture?

I'd certainly hope so. I also think that the club will be leaving themselves wide open to public criticism from everyone, including STAR, if they do over-price this match.

Out of interest, did STAR make any noises to the club last year regarding the price of tickets for the Man Utd 5th Round FA Cup game?

League Cup rules mean 15% of capacity to away fans - so minimum of 3,000 tickets. As a result, we'll have to give them the whole South Stand as we can't correctly segregate them to that level.

Not so....

We can offer them 2400, and then if they sell them we can give them the rest. If they don;t sell them we can sell to home fans.
I'm fairly sure the rules don;t mean that you have to have 3000 empty seats, but if the visiting club wants the full allocation you have to give it to them.
Probably academic as i would expect Liverpool to sell 4000 easily !

Carling Cap rule 22.2 says that the visiting team can claim 15% of tickets

http://www.football-league.premiumtv.co.uk/staticFiles/4f/7a/0,,10794~96847,00.pdf

ie about 3,600 tickets which means we have to give them the whole of the South stand if they ask for it which I would expect to be quite likely.

I'm looking forward to 50+ Royalty points for this one. Will make £25 quid well worthwhile!

That makes sense - cup game, and no way to move the segregation in the away stand.
