Yorkshire Royal It's a business. Lita is in the business of scoring goals. Clearly not very good at it this year, so is not being picked. If he gets sold, then it is because of this. Not because of his being punched, being arrested of filming shagging a bird. He is not an "ambassador" for the club... nor Reading... Fukk me, if I was a player, I would hate to join Reading with a bunch of queers like you supporting them...

You really are quite incapable of reading, thinking and reasoning at the same time aren't you?

What has been said time and time again is that if he were knocking the goals in week in week out not many people would care too much.

But he's not, and apart from a very brief spell last season he has looked below par for a striker in the PL.

Is it totally beyond your wit and imagination to think that there just might be a correlation here between the mounting evidence of an attitude issue (constant diving, the night club incidents, the face in camera, the NOTW story, etc. etc.) and him not living up to his undoubted potential? Until he gets it right in his head he won't fulfil that potential and may well be sold if Coppell feels he is just not worth bothering with any more when other more committed professionals (Beattie perhaps) might be within our reach.

I realise it probably IS beyond you to see what I am getting at and I shall look forward to seeing what the next 4 letter word in your feeble-minded repertoire of playground insults will be.

(Any comparisons to talents such as Ronaldo, Best, Rooney etc. are completely irrelevant as they are from a different planet as far as football talent is concerned.)

Katie Marsden Lita should be sold simply because he's not good enough to start games when Doyle and Kitson are fit and he's not the sort of player that makes a decent squad player.

And BTW at today's prices you will not get anything like a decent replacement for him for just £3M!

And for every Doyle people quote you get a Fae and Cisse!

Vision To be honest i can't believe all of this is being discussed all over again on the basis of what is frankly a non-incident.

Perhaps it's because this represents one of many "non-incidents" regarding the same player that reflects badly on both his club and fellow squad members, the vast majority of whom have shown nothing but exemplary professional conduct off the pitch.

Whilst the likes of Convey and Kitson get national coverage for visiting sick kids in hospital (and on a regular basis, too, not just one offs) Lita drags the good name of this club through the dirt time and again.

As others have said, everyone can overlook the odd incident from a young player caught in the limelight but it's now gone far beyond that in Lita's case.

I'm firmly in the camp with WCH and others who would still find his persistantly poor conduct totally unacceptable even if he was hitting the back of the net for fun..............................and the fact that he isn't should make his departure a no-brainer for a long suffering manager.

But thats the point. If you look at it , it is just the odd incident from a young player caught in the limelight. One of which he was the actual victim of an assault and the latest story is one which happens in every town every weekend of the year and is nothing that i've not seen countless Reading players do over the course of the years. Including several of our current squad.

Which leaves us with the headbutting incident (for which no charges were brought) which occurred very shortly after his arrival here and the admittedly unpleasant sex-filming episode although even that only became public knowledge because one of his "exemplory professional teammates" decided to pass on to all and sundry.

If he was running amok ala the likes of Woodgate, Bowyer and Bellamy then i might just think you have a point but as it stands it seems to me hysterical overreaction by people who don't rate him as a player.

I don't rate him as a player this season simply because he's been very poor and from what I read he is "running amok"

Get rid ASAP.

Did Royal Rother say something..? I tried to follow what he was saying, but got quite bored... It would appear that Spacey is right about something! The same RR who has officially been bored of watching Lita for ages now.. Even through his first season in the prem and u21.

I can read. I can also think. And even, if necessary, I can reason. Just not against someone like you who is obviously always right. You can reason with someone like that...

I accept your criticism of the various 'incidents' which have coloured Lita's time at Reading in light of his diabolical recent form, but I think to accuse him of diving shows your own bias against the individual shining through as he doesn't fall dramatically to the ground much more often than 'Goldenballs' Doyle does.

For me Kitson and Doyle are streets ahead of Lita in terms of their all round game and have proved that by forming a burgeoning partnership of late. For a club of our means, I'd still very happily have Lita as 3rd (maybe 4th!) choice striker because I'd have to ask who we could realistically bring in who is better than LL. Whether he is happy to play 3rd or 4th fiddle you really do have to wonder.

Exactly, with Doyle and Kitson first choice strikers Coppell wouldn't need to go out and sign a player that would demand to be first choice. I'd be happy with an experienced striker which is something the squad lacks.

Kitson and Doyle, then one experienced striker and a promising youngter in Long.

woodcote royal Nope, it just makes you politically naive if you think you're poor conduct can be viewed in the same light as that from a highly paid footballer who, by definition ,represents his club as well as himself when in the publuc domain.

I wasn't talking to you... Although to be fair, you do sound a bit ghey to me... politically naive? It's a fukking football team... For crying out loud.. You actually make me want to cry. Joey Barton.. now there's a disgrace.. still gets picked for Newcastle... George Best.. womanising drinker.. now dead... Still got picked for utd.. Christiano ronaldo shagged some whores... double page spread in NOTW.. still gets picked for UTD. It's irrelevant.. It's a business. Lita is in the business of scoring goals. Clearly not very good at it this year, so is not being picked. If he gets sold, then it is because of this. Not because of his being punched, being arrested of filming shagging a bird. More politically naive garbage from someone who needs to grow up before taking part in grown up debates.

Says the little keyboard warrior who wrote this on another thread........

This thread stands as evidence of what a sily little imitature man you are.

Whatever my opinions on Sidwell's departure, there's nothing irrefutable about the evidence so far on either side but, if it helps to deflects from from what a grade A prat you have made of yourself over yet another ill informed opinion, as ever, you will peddle it for all its worth.

The Tories don't need enemies when they've got friends like Shards the middle class twat.

Woodcote Royal = nasty piece of work

Given the stick I've had from Schards on this topic, I consider the above response quite tame :?

However, what the fcuk this has to do with you're playground observations regarding acceptable conduct from a proffessional footballer is quite beyond me.

To be honest though he's started precisely 4 Premier League games this season so his chances to bang in the goals week in week out are more than a little hampered. Also for much of the brief spell last season you refer to , we were without Doyle and Kitson ( at the same time mostly ) and there was huge pressure on him and for the most part he delivered.

As things stand he's quite rightly behind Kitson & Doyle in our pecking order but its not beyond the realms of possibility that either could pick up an injury and I for one would be a little less hasty in writing off a guy who scored vital goals last season when there was a lot of responsibility on his shoulders.

I'd agree with the likes of Katie, Wax and the others and question whether he has the right temperament to be a 3rd or 4th choice squad striker as it would appear that most of the off-field problems (although greatly exagerrated in my view) do come when he is out of the side. Coppell himself may well share this view, which is why Long is generally favoured on the bench ahead of him. However it is also the case that generally speaking Lita leapfrogs Long when it comes to a starting place.

In my opinion on the two occasions he has been under pressure and taken on more responsibility, during Doyle's lay off last season and the England Under 21 tournament, he has stepped up and delivered. Things can change very quickly in football and at this stage last season he only had the opening day winner against Boro as a Premier League goal. He went on to deliver a decent return when we were really short up front and I'd be reluctant to completely write him off just yet.

Doyle does tip up easily on occasions, I'll give you that, but surely you can't seriously be suggesting that Doyle falls over more often than Lita...

I think Doyle goes to ground nearly as often as Lita. What frustrates about Lita's diving is the obviousness of it, such that referees are rarely fooled. Additionally, Doyle tends to draw fouls on himself in good attacking positions. Lita will happily go to ground anywhere.

I dont see why everyone is making a big deal of his "diving." Its not much worse than Doyles. It may be incorrect but currently in football everyone dives. Think how many pens M Owen has one for Eng by diving but yet we all celebrate. (if we score) S Gerrard is always diving (Sheff Utd last season springs to mind). Against West Ham Leroy was diving but imo he made a much bigger impact in that game than KD.

Wax Jacket FWIW I think Katie Marsden sums it up nicely.

His attitude doesn't appear to be right for someone whose likely role in a fully-fit squad is 3rd choice striker, or first off the bench. He'll be wanting to get as many starts as possible and when he does, he needs to make the most of them to create doubt in the manager's mind. I'm not sure he's done that enough.

Agree.

Oh and Brendy, there are a lot more than just a couple of people fed up with his behaviour.

yes i am aware of this.
my question is why they feel so strongly about it.

and how many exactly?

3? 4? 10? 50?100?

a very small percentage of the whole i would suggest

Ideal It actually makes very much sense if he is indeed a big-headed self-worshiping spoilt brat.
Think about it. He tends to stand about on the pitch and wait for his teammates to "serve him".
Then if he loses the ball he stands about again.
He has a very low workrate. Except for the occasional falling over of course.
This has bigtime charlie written all over it.

I'm sorry, but I think he will turn out to be another player who never fulfills his potential due to an unprofessional and unhealthy attitude.
