Platypuss Indeed. It's one thing to say that the prem is a priority, but it's quite another to say you don't give a flying one about the FA Cup.

I think Coppell wasn't too impressed either - his post match comments were clearly referring to Kitson.
On the BBc interview, he mentions Kitson by name, but he was laughing about what he said. I don't think Coppell "gives two shits" about what Kitson said.

What amazes me about these players who reckon they don't give a shit about the F A Cup and what their reaction is when there team actually gets to the final and then the manager drops them to the bench.

You can guarantee if Reading got to Wembley - and Kitson is told he is not playing cos Leroy is on better form, he will be looking for a move the next season.

I was lucky to play at the old Wembley and if any player can honestly say they don't want to get there they should find another career. I am sure there are thousands of Royal fans who would love to get there.

Kitson'll play at Wembley with England before too long if he carries on performing the way he has done.

If Coppell has said he's going to stick with those who played yesterday throughout the cup, if we got as far as Wembley then Kitson won't feature, and why should he, if it was the others who got us there?

And Coppell being the man he is, that's exactly what he would do and rightly so. But, sadly it ain't gonna happen.

We don't give two sh@t's about the Cup
We don't give two sh@t's about the Cup
We don't give two sh@t's about the Cup
But we we're off to Wembley....

To the tune of 'The whole world in his hands'

If we're 2 up with in extra time against the Spuds. Taking ignorance and arrogance on the terraces to a new level

I like Kitson very much.

He may occasionally be a little misguided in what he says, but I'd rather that along with all the good stuff than random inanities like most other footballers.

For what its worth I think he's done nothing wrong, is a breath of fresh air and our greatest all-round striker ever.

Sir David Kitson, I salute you! :D

I just wonder how DK will feel if Reading reserves go on to beat Spurs and then get an easy draw all the way through to the Final. It happened with Millwall a few seasons ago.

There will be very little chance of DK being recalled to the team after his remarks as the press would have a field day.

Reserves for the Cup!!

I think Coppell would lose a lot of respect within the club if he turned around and went "actually lads, first teamers back in now that we're at the final".

And, let's be bluntly honest, it ain't gonna happen.

Away to Man Utd (again). I don't think that theory is going to be tested then!

Kitson goes the way of David Icke:

"Steve Coppell is really a giant Lizard. in fact all managers are really Lizards from mars in human form"

Murphy slams Kitson comments

Fulham midfielder Danny Murphy has no time for Reading’s Dave Kitson after the striker intimated that he does not care about The FA Cup.

Kitson worded this in stronger terms with the use of an expletive, but may live to regret his statement after Steve Coppell’s side earned a replay against Tottenham.

Murphy also faces a rematch after Bristol Rovers held Fulham to a 2-2 draw at Craven Cottage and he cherishes the memories of winning the famous old trophy while at Liverpool.

“I’m lucky, I’ve won The FA Cup and I can tell everybody who doubts that feeling that it is a wonderful feeling and it’s something that will live with me forever,â€

Murphy= Arrogant tosser. Kitson has been heads and shoulders above him this season and he has the cheek to say:

"I’ve forgotten his name, and that shows how big a name he is"

No, it shows that you are a cluelss prat who obviously hasn't followed the premiership this season. Kitson is the top english scorer.

I wouldn't expect the likes of Mr Murphy to get it but doesn't the fact that he won the cup with Liverpool kind of reinforce Kitson (and Coppell's point).?

I was about to say that.

:?

Its a pretty obvious point as well, isn't it?

Yeah you'd have thought any journalist worth his salt would have persued the point as well. I guess Setanta can't afford to upset Steve McManaman's mates.
