When did you last want a win this much?

by moo » 23 Feb 2008 20:16

When the hell did we need or want a win this much? It must have been such a long time, I mean even Leicester away and QPR at home weren't 'must wins', as Leicester was just getting a job done that was gonna happen regardless and QPR was just for a record and excitement.

Maybe for wanting the win, West Ham, when Pardew had stitched us up, but needing a win... Wolves in the playoffs??

Really, really excited and nervous about tommorow's game, it's kind of nice to have that back in such a strong way, but nasty at the same time.

Want and need are different things.

I want us to win every game just as much as any other. It's just the disappointment if we don't that varies. If we don't win this one I'll be very, very, very disappointed, but I'll find reasons to mitigate the disaster. For me that's what being a supporter is about.

Mitigating factors including Sunderland, Fulham (and to a lesser extent) Boro and Newcastle losing today. If we can win tomorrow...................the picture doesn't look so bleak. At least for a while.

Watford at home last season. Little Reading in to Europe. I wanted to win to finally have Coppell admit that yes, he was always shooting for a UEFA spot but just did not want to get his hopes up.

I think that's the same here. And I was actually more disappointed than usual when we played so averagely.

Before that? I dunno - Pardew's return was one I wanted to win. Wolves in the play-offs given that I was living with a Wolves fan and he'd made some unkind comments.

Wigan away ... meh ...

Indeed. That was THE game everyone was looking too and we were comfortably beaten.

While Reading continue to lose then no matter who we play the next one will be 'must win' and the 'most important'

Reading need a result tomorrow but they've needed a result for the past 6-7 weeks.

A goal tomorrow would be a start.

It's amusing when this drought of wins started, everyone kept bringing up the fixtures and saying, win that one, win that one, ah we'll be okay. That list just keeps getting smaller and smaller.. Derby away... win? hopefully?
