Who should be captain if Murts is dropped?

by Archie's penalty » 25 Feb 2008 14:40

Ok everyone. Who should be the captain if Murts is dropped?

Harps gives his all for the team - perhaps he could shout people into submission? Should Kitson be given more responsibility? Ingi, Hahnemann and Doobs could all provide leadership from the back.

Hunty was a good captain in the cup and would sure shout at people.

Could Shorey do a job?

Just depends who plays really.

Duberry is the only one on that list whose been a regular captain of a side before.

Ivar seems to be the vice captain so if he plays i presume it will be him.

I think Hunt

He has been arguably our best player this season and was a good captain in the cup and always gives everything and runs for 90 minutes. He also seems to be popular among the players so this will help.

He is also a popular figure among the supporters which also helps. I also feel he wouldnt be afraid to shout at people.

Although i know that coppel wouldnt do this.

I can see by the early voting that this is going to be an even battle!

It has to be a player that isn't going to get dropped - as Doobs/Ivar are in and out of the team and Harper and Kitsons places really should be under review (Harps cannot play with Mateyovski lack of tracking back and tackling cost us again this week). It must be Hunty!!!

Ingimarsson, though in reality I don't see much leadership out on the pitch from anyone currently

Ditto.

Saying Hutn is the only player who gives 100% every week is utter pig shit.

I don't doubt that every single one of them gives 100% every week, or is it judged on how much they run around like a headless chicken?

In that case Hahnemann is a right lazy fcuk, i've never seen him leave that big 18 yard box before.

LOLZ

Constructive criticism > Blind optimism.

The point in question, Hunt is the only one who gives 100% is utter nonsense. I don't doubt Murty, Oster, Harper or any of them give 100%. All of them give everything every match, it's the quality where we are lacking desperately.

Murts has been a fantastic player for us, but I've never thought of him as an effective leader,
but as mentioned above, there seems to be a distinct lack of leadership in our squad.

We need a "sort yerself out!" kick em up the erse type of Roy Keane character at the moment, rather than a quiet lead by example type!

Think Kits is prob best suited of the bunch!

I don't think talking about who should be the next captain of Reading FC will change anything.
In fact I don't think that changing the captain would achieve anything on its own either.
