Give me a better option then.

Personally i would play Doyle on the right and have long up front.....or give Kebe a go on the right for a whole game rather than just 10 minutes towards the end

strap impOSTER impOSTER impOSTER.

This is getting embarrassing now. Seriously, stop.

Seconded.

I don't know how I can demostrate just how much of a prick you're coming across as Strap. The closest I can manage is that I'm starting to confuse you with SDR, and that doesn't really cover the level of dribbling insanity you're dropping to.

Doyle hasn't looked especially effective on the right and doesn't want to play there. Long hasn't looked especially dangerous upfront bar the occasional goal. Long on the wing would be a more interesting suggestion, but I doubt he has the discipline to defend there, especially having seen some of his tackles, or the crossing ability for that matter.

Kebe, bar one exciting 5 minute cameo has done sweet FA to suggest he would have any penetration, looks about as defensively able as a paraplegic and appears to have stolen Bambi's legs. Decent option for the bench when a game is being stretched and there are tired legs at the end. But I'd be willing to stake money that he'd be a liability from the start right now. Work in progress tbf to him.

Other options:
Fae - was poor when he played there, lightweight and offered nothing, forward or back.
De La - Seems to have been forgotten, probably the player I'd be most likely to give a go there should Oster be dropped. Should have a decent cross, got a bit of pace and defensively solid.
Convey - In one of his lightweight producing nothing phases. Needs a good preseason with a confident team to get back to his best.

Oster has his problems and I am by no means a fan, but he has a good cross, and has got in scoring positions. For that alone he is our best bet on the right. He ha his really shit moments I agree. But we have balance with him and a bit of threat down the right. If slightly intermitantly.

He's also seemingly starting to develop a bit of an understanding with Rosenior. For now he's good enough and I i'd like to see him stay another season, but only as cover. We definitely need a quality Right Winger in the summer. Little is too injury prone and getting on. Kebe looks like he needs a whole lot of work, Henry isn't delivering on his promise yet.

Thou Voice ...now this was was interesting, every time I've encountered Birmingham FANS I felt what a bunch of idiots and today was no exception. Walking towards my area, me and the family passed a whole gang of them (about 20 or so) singing about what oxf*rd they thought Reading FANS were and trying to get a rise out of them. Fortunately as us southerners are not on income support like the people from Birmingham we managed to hold our composure. Although there was one Reading FAN by us who I'd have enjoyed seeing them wade in, he was huge and would have probably ripped there heads off.

Onto the game...

...usually I will complain about the Balding Guy when he faaaaails to deliver and today I thought was going to be no better when he said the following on RFC website, "I made changes at Middlesbrough, it had the effect of two wins and a loss, so maybe a couple more changes would have the same effect.", it was clear that he had no real idea that Liverpool are actually a big team and it was really odds on that we would lost against them so I was dreading whatever he'd drawn up on a fag packet today to present us with.

Fortunately we won through. From where I was sitting Oster had a good game, regardless of what some of you fools think about him.

Doyle was just as useless as ever, I mean come on, our strikers can't score and yet the Balding Guy continues to field them. What does it take for a change to happen here? The sensible thing should be done and recall Lita. Doyle is too short (and slow) for the long ball game we play, so why the hell do we continue to use this waste of space.

Bikey was a worry for me, I have him 10/10 for style on his cartwheels but was dreading that he was actually going to hurt himself, absolutely man of the match.

I feel watching our display today, there is no why that Murty should be given a place ever back on the team. He was banging on the glass when the second goal went in as the cameras showed him. I think that it was purely out of despair that we now have defenders who can score as out strikers are useless and he may have realised he's lost his place.

I have to say that today it was also a pleasure to have my fans behave themselves around me for that match. This was much more enjoyable

Tally hoooo brothers.

I'm ashamed that you're a Reading fan.

Here we go again...

There are a feeeew points here that need to be addressed:

01. The Balding Guy did well, but he does not cut it in the league this season.
02. He still mumbles and bumbles his way through interviews and comes out with some radically insane comments at times.
03. He has lied to us about transfers and targets that has been discussed many times. If he can't tell the truth then just continue to be quiet.
04. He is more intrested in being the "big I am" and rattling off on players who drop their shirts rather the wastes of space of the field. How often do you see him come out of his little box where he hides in the corner?
05. He is too loyal against some and anti others. I offer the Doyle vs Lita debate.

The bottom line is, the Balding Guy got us to where we are today which I'll thank him and give him a donkey rub for - we now need somebody else who can take us further otherwise year in, year out, we're going to be pissing around the drop zone.

If we survive this season, he should step down and we can then behold our saviour.

Yes I am.

Drival as you put it is purely based on the fact that I do not do the dance of the sugar plum fairies wearing red and white glassed specs.

No, I raise the points that need raising rather then the continued back slapping and chest rubbing that other people here persist in taking.

One day there will be a huge apology thread to all you doubters of me.

Ok, I know it's pointless, but I'll have a go at addressing these...
01. OK, so it's not been a good season, but would you really want him replaced now? Of the teams who have replaced their manager this season, how many have seen a significant improvement in results since?
02. It's just his style with interviews - what's the problem here? What do you want to see - conjuring tricks?
03. He hasn't lied about any transfer targets AFAIK. Care to give any specific examples?
04. This is just total bollox. SSC doesn't rant and rave on the touchlines, never has. His quiet reflection has served us quite well in the past two seasons. Having a go at someone who's just flung his shirt to the floor was totally justified. What would you rather have him do in this case?
05. It's called picking your best team. Ok, so Doyle hasn't scored in a while, how long has it been since Lita scored? Doyle offers the team far more than Lita at the moment, witness his assist for Long's goal against City.

Whilst I agree SC has this season been far from amazing and the last four games seem to have hidden the dire performances of the squad for the majority of the season, why do you persist in your infantile name calling?

Your inane arguments are making a farce of some of the more reasoned complaints on other threads.

Get a grip and see a shrink!

not getting into personal slaggings
your opinion is as valuable as any other, its your tone and language that irtritate, but then they are supposed to im guessing

but in answer to your points:
1: he is doing well, he is cutting it, he is going to see us safe with the cheapest squad in the league the man is genius.
2:his interviews are always intelligent, articulate, amusing and witty, speaks more sense than alomost any manager up here
3:he hasnt lied you fool, maybe he has changed his mind on a couple of occasions, but he hasnt lied, why would he, hes an honest guy. more likely he said he needed at least three players, then over the window decided that he couldnt get the three he wanted, and wasnt going to just buy any old bod.
4:this isnt even worth debating, and shows you up a little, ive never seen a manager who is less interested, in giving it the"big i am"
5:i would say he is loyal to those who dseserve loyalty, and who have shown loyalty to him.
and as the guy that watches all training sessions and matches, has a wealth of managerial and playing experience im going with his decisions on who to be loyal to, rather than yours

why would any one here do a dance wearing red and white spectacles?you arent making any sense.

Thats strange. Mick Gooding on BBCRB comented on how all the off the ball work by Doyle played a huge part in todays result. People like you who only see whats happening on the ball and not the wider picture might as well stay at home and watch it on TV.

I'm just wondering how many actual goalscoring chances Doyle gets in a game. I think it was one on Saturday, well blocked on the line by the Brum defender. Meanwhile he worked his socks off in the channels, competing for the ball and creating space. He should have had his second assist in three games as well, only Oster was on the end of Doyler's good work rather than Long this time round. I think Doyle's been the unsung hero of the team's recent resurgence and has repaid Coppell's loyalty handsomely.
