SDR delivers bollox with a bit of self-deprecating (look it up) wit, style and interest. Thou Voice is a sad, pale imitation.

Loser.

Muskrat
jumpers for goalposts

This is an appeal for any information available on the whereabouts of Reading left back Nicky Shorey. The fans favourite has not been seen at the Madejski since his inclusion in a Steve Mclaren England squad late last year. The fact that he has gone missing has only been noted in recent times when Reading's left back, clearly an imposter, started playing continous long ball football. The club have become worried that without him, they could still be in relegation trouble, and are determined to ascertain the whereabouts of one of their key assets. Please do get in touch if you can help!

Congratulations on knowing nothing about football.

In which case, I wonder where that leaves those who feel that Shorey's not a had a poor game in 8 years.....................aren't we blessed to have so many "experts"

The merest suggestion that Shorey wasn't great (and his 2nd half performance yesterday was very average, to say the least) and up pop his defenders screaming about free kicks and assists.

Oddly, however, assists and free kicks don't count when they come from the feet of John "The impOster" even though he's ahead of Shorey in this respect over the last month.

As ever, the East Stand won't hear a word said against its "untouchables " but have no problem starting threads about how "bored" they are with other players in this team who collectively have done so well to drag us 6pts clear of the relegation zone.

Whilst a small part of me is tempted to start an "I'm officially bored with/of Shorey/Murty/Ingimarsson" thread, I think I'll just say this.

Would those officially bored with/of any of our players, as they fight for our Premiership survival, kindly SHUT THE FCUK UP AND STAY AT HOME!!!!!!!!

Shorey is a defender.
Blackburn have in Bentley, one of the most promising attacking right sided players in the game. But he was very low profile in yesterday's game, perhaps the trip to Paris wore him out or maybe it was some othe factor?

If Shorey had a right foot it might help.

He does those nice cut-ins (after droping his shoulder beautifully) and runs along the box and nothing ever comes of it as he can't even dink a gentle through-ball through with his right foot, let alone have a shot

// As said, kept Bentley bloody quiet though

Rather him be more conservative around this period in the season....better to keep things tight than go cavalier and risk defeats. Its a time to keep picking up points rather than win or bust....each point is another punt in the proverbial pcunt for Bolton/fulham.....2-1/0-0's > any sort of loss

I think that Shorey has been average by his own high standrds this season...must be interesting having Hunty on the same side as I,m not sure he knows whart he is going to do next ..bless him :)

Royal Rother So, after 8 successive losses we now have 1 defeat in 5 games, including 3 clean sheets and we have threads today moaning about Doyle, Hunt and now even Shorey; doubtless there will be a post later on about the IMPoster and our Balding Guy who can't manage for toffee, but I wonder how many more negative threads / posts will be up before the post-mortem today has ended.

I find it a bit sad to be honest that people would still, even now, with safety beckoning, find reason to be negative about our players.

Likewise - Doyle had an excellent game on Saturday. His work rate was first class. I can remember at least three occasions where he beat his man and drew other defenders to him and created space for others. The angles of his runs and his unselfishness are valuable for the team. I sometimes think that some of the negative stuff is from some who maybe have not played the game at any decent standard and who perhaps do not understand the team nature of the game. If the team are winning or drawing or putting up excellent performances against any of the top four, the team selection is right. End of.

Who created more and did more for his team on Saturday Cruz (How many millions?) or Doyle?

When the going gets tough in any game, I would rather pick our players than most others because our genious boss selects/signs people for their mental toughness and attitude as well as their potential ability.

He also knows that those with so called 'proven' ability have done something in the past - that does not in any way mean that they will have what it takes for us when it matters for us.

Moaning about Hunt - unbelievable! - He missed a sitter and some of his passes went astray.

There are posers and there are those that take risks. Stephen Hunt ran fifty yards in an incredibly short space of time to support Shane Long and took a risk that may have won us the game - it didn't this time. But it did against Sunderland for example.

Many of our players have been given the confidence and the platform to play at higher levels than they would have believed possible - and they are doing it.

I would rather have our players than the expensive misfits of Middlesborough, Fulham, Bolton et al.

(I'd sign Jimmy Bullard in the summer though)

Of course our genious boss will make the odd mistake but as a strategy his signings and selection are much wiser than most, affordable and potentially very profitable if they are sold on for a few million.

Our players commitment, attitude and mental toughness in constantly performing outside their comfort zones is admirable and when it works (Stephen Hunt's 30 yarder that hit the bar last week after a forty yard direct run at the Brum back four) its great to watch!

Supporting not sniping that's what we're about - surely :?:

'One foot, he's only got one foot'!

How effing much do you have to pay in wages for a player who can kick and pass the ball with two feet - given that Shorey gets so much for just the one?!
